My son was recently involved in an accident on Rte. 35. A collision with a tractor trailer. I would like to thank each and every one of the individuals that were on the scene. I cant recall each one but we should be thankful for all the ones that volunteer their time at the fire departments in the area. They pick up and answer calls in the middle of dinner, middle of the night, no matter what. Steve Cavender, Jeremy Bryant, John Bryant, Deputies Steve Green and Carl Peterson. EMS Justin Veith and his partner. Sorry I can't name all of you but your presence was known. A special thanks to Melvin Biars who stayed and prayed at the scene and then came to hospital to be assured he was ok. My son is sore but he will be fine. I guess angels do exist, mortal and immortal. Thanking everyone again. I should also thank the PVH staff for their attention. Especially Judy Reed who stayed patient with our questions and understood what we were going through.

It would be nice for you to also write a letter to the editor of the paper so those who do not have Internet can read your appreciation! Seems like people take these men for granted! I'm glad your son is okay!

Wow! It is amazing to see a positive post on topix. I am thankful for people like you that appreciate the sacrifices people make everyday that go unnoticed. I, too am glad your son is doing well. Route 35 is dangerous. I heard it was a very bad accident if it was the one from Wednesday night. He is a lucky boy. I'm glad God and all those great first responders where there for him.

I am glad to see this. My husband and I were in the traffic jam for an hour on our way to church. We gave up and turned around but we prayed while waiting for all involved to be ok. God is good. We went down Rt 2 to get home and saw another accident in Gallipolis Ferry. A 79 year old man got hit by a car and we were there before any EMS arrived. Another miracle...he is doing fine. We prayed for him too and I told him that I did and that he was going to be ok. Praise the Lord for guardian angels.
