That's "Romantico Blues" in French if I'm not mistaken. Recognize the melody.

Or at least "Romantico Blues" is the Italian title to the song. The French version may have a different title/lyrics. Will run it through online translation and see...

Yes--it is the French version of Romantico Blues, one of the videos below it shows that. The online translation does show the titile is different in French, although it is not very clear as it says
"I Heart More Love". Sometimes they give wacky translations. I think this is one of thsoe times.

In their 1966 Eurovision performances, Margot Eskens holds herself like she's Queen of the Black Forest, and Michele Torr looks like the Pink Panther (her body is perfectly perpendicular, all loose and slinky like). Have mentioned before, you almost expect to see Inspector Clousseau amongst the audience.

Just researched Eurovision 1966, and it's crazy...both Michele Torr and Margot Eskens placed 10th out of 18. Someone else placed tenth also, how is that possible? Anyhow, I disagree with the criticism of Michele Torr's performance on her Wiki page; "..mispronounces 'clos' in second verse...voice breaks in several places...monotone yelling at the end": While I can't comment about whether she mispronounces a word (I don't know French), it definitely doesn't sound like her voice breaks at any time, nor does it become onotone yelling at the end. As excellent a performance Mina gives in video "io vivro senza te" (posted by swan5046), in that I can hear her voice break 2X:@2:33, and @4:30. Still though, it's a very enjoyable video. But for Michele Tor and Margot Eskens to place tenth...that's very aggravating. Those are tow of my favorite Eurovision performances.

Reseaching Eurovision, came across Dana (of Ireland) "All Kinds of Everything". It placed first in 1970 or 1971; excellent performance, have always loved it, but found this other video where she sings the same song and it's quite good:

lol; the freaky 1970's color; love that Dana video (and the gap in her two front teeth)...Hiked in Ireland in 1990 along the Wicklow Way; attended the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. Ireland's lovely.

Oooops!

I had a feeling...a version of the song (le vieux marin) by Leo Ferre appeared on YouTube and that set off some bells since his song that Dalida sang (avec le temps), if understanding online lyric translation correctly, was about moral anarchy. When running le vieux marin through online translation, the songs content doesn't seem too good either, and then it ends with explicit profanity. How did Gogol say it in 'The Cloak'? Something like, ah, those French...what can you say? lol

Wrote earlier that it would be nice to find a French version of Margot Eskens singing -Die Zeiger der Uhr (1966)(hands of a clock), but after viewing her Eurovision performance many times, have to say it just seems flawless. One of the very best.

Interesting...found this explanation--it may be translated "Hands of Time" (instead of hands of a clock), unsure:

"Die Zeiger der Uhr" was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, performed in German by Margot Eskens. The song was performed first on the night, preceding Denmark's Ulla Pia with "Stop - mens legen er go'". It received 7 points, placing 10th in a field of 18. The song is a ballad, with Eskens singing about the feelings brought on by reading old love letters and seeing photographs from an old relationship. As she explains, however, "The hands of time only turn/Forwards, forwards and never backwards". It was succeeded as German representative at the 1967 contest by Inge Brück with "Anouschka". Wikipedia
