I'm sure the Sheriff's Office does.

Heard of the SEVERAL HUNDRED Colington island auto break-ins with in a short period of time the DCSO only charged the kid with 3.
Are they hiding the crimes so Midgett looks good at election time?

Several weeks ago, an officer watched a guy on a bicycle entering my son's girlfriend's car in our driveway, then in our next door neighbors car, then attempting to enter into another neighbors vehicle. Backup arrived and the suspect was arrested. The officer contacted us the next day. Haven't heard anything from the police since. I did hear from another source that a vehicle was found on the property of the subject that was arrested, that contained a large amount of stolen property. But that is just a rumor so I don't put a whole lot of stock in that. I'm more concerned with the person who tried to steal our neighbors van and then lit a fire in it.

From what I understand, there were quite a few, but "several hundred" is ridiculously inflated.

They caught someone in the act on those three. Break-ins of unlocked vehicles don't leave behind any evidence, so unless the person charged says "yeah, I did them all" or someone else runs their mouth, it is unlikely that anyone will be charged in the others.

Nothing is being hidden. If you have any questions at all, call the sheriff's office in Manteo or Colington and they'll be glad to help you.

Actually the reported number was about 300 in a little over 30 days. Total were several hundred since it started, they know many more went unreported That's "unofficially" from the DCSO

One of our cars was broken into in my home driveway early one morning...doors were locked...they smashed back side of passenger window. No one ever caught. Do not leave personal belongings in your car...at all.
