Sen. Feinstein: All "Assault Weapons" To Be Treated As Machine Guns

Appearing on the Fox News Sunday program hosted by Chris Wallace December 30, 2012, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) unveiled details of her proposed Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2013:

ALL military-look alike "assault weapons" (sic), sale, possession, transportation, manufacture, etc. of weapons that have a threaded barrel; flash suppressor; bayonet lug; pistol grip; accommodate magazines which can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition would come under Title III, the same classification under which FULL AUTOMATIC MACHINE GUNS, MACHINE PISTOLS, SUBMACHINE GUNS, etc. fall and the purview of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. Weapons already in the hands of the American people would need to be registered same way as a machine gun, by paying a yearly $200. fee to BATFE; being fingerprinted; submitting to an exhaustive criminal and medical history check, including mental health histories; and surrendering your rights under the 4th Amendment against unreasonable searches in order to allow the BATFE to conduct unannounced searches of your home, vehicle, and place of business to check for the registered weapon or any others you may possess illegally. Big Brother is now in the building!
