Can't we have a vote to require the city attorney run for election, is there a petition?
He's the one pushed HIS pool agenda through, and engineered the special election.
He runs things in this town, and really answers to no one, least of all the voters. Let him run for office, I bet there would be some hungry attorneys willing to complete.
He got his pool, outlived his usefulness.

I have always been told by the older local, that, one reason Pocahontas has dried up is the attitudes of the "city fathers" in not allowing other businesses come in there.Case in point is: couldn't they have voted in WalMart's distribution center to be there? And,they voted no,so,it's at Searcy, and all of WalMart they have is the Supercenter.

It is an elected position. He runs for re-election every four years.

Maybe it's time for a group to find another attorney to run against him ,doesn't he have some form of corruption in his past?
Was he part of the Nick Wilson child support fraud and wasn't he supposed to repay restitution and he didn't or is this all just a rumor and not true?

they will still get get 1% instead of 2% on prepared food. it went for city parks and peoples leisure. they got the 7.5 million first. then they got the 1/4 million/yr tax on restaurant food replaced with 1/2 million/yr/forever on almost everything on everyone, including the poor, unemployed, and fixed income that are struggling. poor morals on the part of the wanters and city leadership to take more of our tax dollars with their special election.

With the recent decisions of our city this thread needs to be re-visited and all citizens should attend city council meetings to see how taxpayers are being treated.

I can read and write just fine, and my work ethic and skill is just fine. If everyone had a collage degree there would be people with a collage degree working at or near minimum wage. There would be just as many low paying jobs then as there is now.

Because the election process is rigged here as in many other counties cities. Dead people not taken off rolls, EARLY VOTING is how the democrats win too, who is putting the early votes away, pulling them back out later. Who is counting votes? Democrats are Folks! A handful of about 4-5 Its easy to compromise the outcome of a election if only a few democrats are counting the early votes, putting some away. losing some, Its a scam here. Pay attention who is handling the boxes of ballots coming in on election night, who is standing guard at the gates. Wake up, DONT VOTE EARLY, Swarm them at the last minute, they lose some control that way and for heavens sake get some poll watchers that are independents, watching those who are counting. Make sure your late grandma and grandpa are not still voting, felons. This is the stack or box they use when the winner is winning to pull out the Lucky loser in the end. They call it a glitch in the system. Listen and Learn. Can you beat the Machine? TEA

They can't get industry so all they can do is raise taxes and loose population.
It's a no growth economy and it isn't a "retirement town" with high taxes, poor medical care and no shopping nearby.
Watch POCATAXUS slowly sink to a ghost town when the 67 bipass becomes reality.
We got the Democrats to blame for this outrageous sales tax. Good GOD! almost 10% tax on everything you buy.

the more idiotic are -
1 - the city council that went way overboard on the need, size, costs, and then put it to a special election.
2 - the apathetic voters who didn't use their brains and get out and vote it down.

it is NOT a wise use of our tax dollars for such an expensive project that will be used so little by so few.
