If you want your child to have a better education,take sports out of schools,sports is great for children but it should be the community,not schools.

My son was on the honor roll for the first time this year. He wanted to be able to continue to play sports. It was a great motivation for him. I have always valued a godd education. I have two straight A kids, but this one was not motivated at all by my griping and grounding.

Not bad,but the same rules could apply for a community team,or you as a parent you can enforce the same rule,your child could get a better education if sports were not in school,think of how many more teachers we could have helping your child be on the honor roll,i would guess well over a million dollars a year is spent in pocahontas school for sports,what would be wrong with that,and what percentage of that money is spent on what percentage of the students,how many students and how many in sports and why are coaches paid twice as much as the other teachers,wasted money,its not fair,think of the money the district could use on other things and the tax payers could save a lot of money,of course you dont think its costing you anything,wrong,where do you think this money comes from?Your pocket you just dont know it.

Provrebs 24-13 takes care of that,everyone knows what his child is capable of,if he now is capable of being on the honor roll he was before,but just think of the time wasted on sports that could have been spent on academics,you say you want you child to get a good education,so this is the way he can get a better education,of course as i have said before,sports is more for moms,dads,and school reprsentation,why else would this much of money be spent by a school district,of course when it becomes tax time everyone will complain,when we pull up to the gas pump,we will complain,but only a small percentage of the students will pertisipate in sports,why does not all students get this money spent on them as well.

Where does thes money given out for scolarships come from,is it the tooth fairy,no its the tax payers,think of all the children that could have a colledge ed. paid for with this money being spent,is the child that dont play sports going to get his or her share of this money,not likely,how many of these students going to make a living at sports,not even 1/10% if you want sports in school then be honest,its not for the students as much as it is for the school representation,moms and dads,but if you want it then its fine,but it is the tax payer that is footing the bill,one way or another,go Charter schools.

When I played sports n school u had to have a c average to play n that's the way it was n as far as who gets paid more, coaches dnt only coach they also teach n they dnt make much for coaching, and I didn't say anything bout playing sports for a living, but most of ur college athletes get a 4 yr degree, and I pay taxes so part of my money goes for that just like it does for some of these lazy ass people who r able to wrk but dnt , and if my kids dnt make the grades they dnt play n the community sports either, and if ur kid is not playing sports then they should have plenty of time to earn that academic scholarship n if a sports scholarship get a kid to college and they get a college degree great for them, its all bout how hard u wanna wrk to earn ur grades, sports dnt have Shit to do with it, but I'm not gonna deny my kids the joy of sports if they choose to participate n them but the will earn the privilege to keep playing and good grades is one of the conditions

Why should a student have to have a certain gpa to play ball,do you think we are all born with the same smarts,no,why should a smart child get to play and one that is not as smart not get to,this might be school rules but it sounds like a good law suit to me,you are discrimanating against one,not all childern are brought up in the same soroundings,some poor,some rich,do you think that only those born in the more knoledgeable households should get to play,sounds like sports always was to me,it was who you were,or who your family was that played a part in who played,most likely why pocahontas lost good coaches a few yrs ago,and a real good reason that sports should be a community sport,and not in schools. "KICK ME BACK" if you dont i will keep kicking you anyway.

Lol guess u didn't make the team back n the day, it is a school rule, and if u dnt like it home school ur child, that solve all ur education problems, I dnt know y its a rule ask them maybe the kids struggling n school need that time to study instead of playing sports, and I do agree with u on one thing n its about who u r or who u know for some of it but not all of it and I'm not gonna try to take anything away from the kids who dnt have the last name and they wrk so hard to accomplish the goals they have set for them selves, I read with my kids, I do math with my kids, I get out n yard n play ball with my kids so I help them as much as I can cause I want them to have more than I do.

To give you an honest answer no i didnt try to make the team,first of all i maynot have been able to,second i was not one with money,and of course i think all the students would have a better ed. without sports in school,why else would i care,my children played sports in school but thats not the point i am making,much more money and time spent on sports than any 3 other subjects,its why our students dont achieve like students in other countries,nor will they as long as we put more interest in sports,rather than academics,but its your child,if you had rather your child play sports,than have a better ed, then its up to you, but i dobut he or she ever plays sports for aliving and is being used by our schools,its time for the truth to come out,sports is not for your child,its for your school, along with Moms and DADS and the money spent would give your child a much better ed, if the time and money was used correctly,now i dont expect that my post will change anything but dont give me that bull about sports being for our children,its not,never ,dont misunderstand me sports is great for our children,but the school is not the place for sports,it may be the norm but that does not make it right.

Is it your opinion that our children will be better ed. with the amt. of money our schools are spending on sports,if so then why are children being better ed. in other countries,what amt. would you think our schools are spending on sports,would you guess pocahontas is well over a million per year counting the facilities and operational cost,the truth is its will be much more,but you really dont care do you,its not comming out of your pocket IS it.{OR IS IT.}
