everyone knows pro med would of "won" anyway, even if medic one had offered five 24/7 rigs with a paramed AND a doctor on board.

when can we sign the referendum? again!

and he doesn't know the fact, this was the first franchise that promed has ever been awarded. maybe he needs to ask the owner. what a shame this is the attitude of our one and only service. thanks council job well done.

"they haven't put in any other bids"

real convenient to get a sweetheart agenda deal here and telling that pocahontas is one of the few with a sole franchise and then somehow picks them. whats wrong with competition like the other places they are? freedom to chose and competition too much for them here? plain and simple, erc agenda is sole reason they are here. freedom GOOD - protected monopoly BAD.

in my opinion there shouldnt be a franchise. medic one was more than willing at the meeting and even from the start to have competition. just run both services. let the people pick who they want. that works out fine in all the other counties. i dont see what the council sees in promed that nobody else can see. because if you want facts heres one that was presented at the last council meeting. in 2011, the last full year medic one was in randolph county, they were out of service 130 times. in the 6 months that promed was there in 2012 they were out of service 148times. so how is that better for the people of randolph county?

How many franchises has medic one been awarded?

How much competiton was there before this started? Zero. That is why medic on was giving us the minimum amount of coverage they could get away with and we were the ones suffering because of it

Ok for one they were out of service way more then that there was several times they were 10-6 and didn't tell dispatch second they wasn't counting the times the medic one truck from walnut ridge came up and covers Randolph county so it was way more than that and I know because I used to work in Lawrence county and they would check 10-6 almost everyday to go cover for Randolph county so their stats are a lie and don't set there in say well it's a medic one truck so it don't count because it does it is out of a diff county so what's the difference between having AET come cover or medic one it makes no diff so no medic one does not have better stats

just how much competition do we have with the SOLE franchise?
we suffered less under medic one than we have under promed - check the out of service figures.
medic one had backup close by. better than promed having to call in backups

duh! how much competition is there now? ZERO!!!

medic one has a non sole franchise in jonesboro. guess that won't work here for some reason. and have several bases in nea and semo.

how about promed? ONE they wouldn't have if not for some idiotic secretive erc agenda. why the rushed 3 votes on the same night the public was blindsided with the original ordinance?
foolish ordinance that now has the council held hostage by promed.

most business stay in business by making a profit while offering the minimum needed. duh!
medic one had backups active and available when needed.
probably faster than calling in local crews from home or out of county backups like promed has done.

why didn't promed go above the minimum and bid 5 24/7 trucks or come in and compete without a franchise? profit?

and who and what training and made the 3 man erc and council into experts on ambulances, ambulance business, medical treatment, etc, etc.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE - the erc agenda has caused all this and ran off a good company and it's employees who were providing better service than we have now.

ALSO - council went against the voters 60 days after an election.
erc and council should hang their heads in shame and embarassment for their ignorance, stupidity, and actions.

will be a LONG time, if ever, before they are trusted, respected believed, or listened to by a huge number of voters in this town.

Your wrong medic ones back up was coming from Lawrence county which is the same as promed called AET they are still both having to get a truck out of a different county so there is no difference
