You wouldn't love to hear anything other than your own words, but just becuse you asked, here goes....the city council PUBLICLY STATED MedOne service was "inadequate". The former hospital administrator wrote a letter stating the service was exemplary. The council buried that letter, hiding it from the public, and never mentioned it. Now tell me, if you were a voter, would you feel duped? MISLED? Deception is the method used by the council. Now, you revel in their dishonesty, and your nature is revealed as well. Knowing the lies that have been told by the council, you choose to follow that group. Sad.

The main question in all of this back and forth is. HAS ANYONE DIED YET BECAUSE OF LACK OF COVERAGE? After all this time we have to just accept that privileges are going to be given to one company or another by every level of government. I'm sure that for every contract in every city in the country you could find a similar example. That being said MedicOne was screwed over as they were very prompt professional and courteous whenever our family needed them.

It was an UP - DOWN vote, and PROmed got the thumbs down. Too bad our city council intentionally rejected the vote. They bullied and essentially FORCED their choice on the voters. I feel like I was...violated by the council. Kinda dirty, like nasty or something.

well we worked hard for pocahontas and then when promed was given the bid again aginst voters request the people just said oh well and let it happen whats up with that just laid down and played dead sad

Pocahontas has more ambulances covering the county than before. That is a fact. I made the statement, it is up to you to prove me wrong. And don't cite that bs 10-6 comparison. You know medic one regularly didn't check 10-6 with 9-11. Speaking of 911, ask their opinion. They will tell you about the improvement.

You are correct, many people worked very hard against the franchise for at least a year. Now an attorney advises there are are few good options available, other than to wait for an election to replace
the city council. Do you think that will happen? Is that the only solution?

initiative is a good option. qualified voters will eagerly go somewhere to sign it if given a chance.
also could ask a judge to throw out the new franchise as it was against a very recent vote of the people. see if voter intent and actions should be valid for more than 60 days. council needs slapped up side the head by someone with authority.
