Everyone please VOTE NO and kill this monster tax and pool project.
Make em start over, cut back, and do it for 1/5 of the cost.

The council could and should have gone with a $1 to $1.5 million maximum project and made it work. We're not rich, or Paragould.

They can finance or build it it over time with another penny on the burger tax/those who can afford to eat out.(125k more/yr)
Leave everyone else, the poor, and the county folks out of it.

Delete the biggest part of the project,($4.3 million) for the enclosed and heated pools. Kids have school, sports, and other activities they do in winter besides swim. The numbers swimming would be small and heat is expensive. We probably have better uses for our money and tax dollars than furnishing heated covered pools and buildings for a very small percent of the population to swim in the winter.

Fix the big newer pool we have for the numbers that do swim in their free summer time and can pay the fees. A vast majority of teens in the city don't even visit the pool or swim.

The small old pool is old and small for the larger numbers, the non teens, young and toddlers. Do something similar but maybe 1/3 less on the present proposed $1.5 million aquatic play and slide parts for the younger folks. There is a lot of fat there to cut.

Cut back on the size some on the dressing and concession buildings and other structures and the $250k slide. The project will only be used for 3 months and by a small minority of the city.

Maybe do a much smaller enclosed therapy pool for $250k max for the old folks and those others needing it. might even put it somewhere else in the city.
(an inground heated home type/size pool with a heated structure over it shouldn't cost more than $250k)

Remember - you MUST get out and VOTE NO to kill the monster, or we and others will be paying for it, forever.

$7.5 million and another 1/2 million/yr forever is a lot of money.
Too much from the majority for the benefit of the minority.

at least she didn't call herself a PATRIOT for voting to take another percent/MILLION$ out of the local economy for leisure and wants.

wanting and voting for another percent tax and bragging about it - when so many folks and families here are poor, really struggling, trying to make ends meet, and a large percentage of local workers are un and under employed - is NOT my idea of a PATRIOT.
quite the opposite.
she still is one
