Do you really believe that? That don't even make sense. If employers wanted to give raises and pink slips, they could do that now, eliminating the minimum wage would have nothing to do with it.

should the minimum wage be increased from $7.25 to $9.00 per hour, and how would it effect the economy.
Anyone working a full time job has earned at least a basic living to provide for their family. If thay don't get it, someone stole it from them, it went to upper level employs, over paid executives, company profits, bonus's, or investments etc. The reason working people are under paid is because others are over paid. So yes Mary Sue, the minimum wage should be increased.

If you are a man feeding a family and you are working for min. wage, you are most likely not wirth more money, any man that will not go where there is more money does not need a raise, min. wage jobs are generally for min wage workers.

I can see why you are complaing all the time, you are one of those min.wage earners, you must not be a very good employee or you would get more money or a better job,if you had ambition.

I'm not just talking about minimum wage. i'm talking about everything under $9.00 per/hr. and you had better not quit your job and move off somewhere thinking your going to find a better one because you will probably find yourself without A job at all.

Any one that is willing to go to the job can get a job making good money, just dont expect the job to be here,in Min.thay are paying Mcdonalds employee's 20 dollars per hr.in fact there have been so many ppl moving in campers into that area, that they had to pass a law against campers, now dont expect to live here and get a job that will pay you much,or walk of the front door and go to work each morning, not going to happen, pack a bag.

The main thing is if min. wage has an increase to say $10 p/hr your mcdoubles will no longer be a dollar they would probably about 2.50-$2.60 each. It is trickle-up economics.
no need for names here,

Perhaps with your understanding of economic we should REDUCE THE MINIMIMUM WAGE,allowing "McBurger's are US" to hire more "flipper" to fry up a product the "flippers" cannot afford to purchase.

My father was born in Ravenden Springs in 1919, and had a 6th grade education, but I do remember him telling me about the "donut shop owner going broke trying to make the hole in the donut bigger".

"Trickle Up" is not an Economic Theory.

There is "Pump Priming" meaning Govenment money pay for unemployed people to work such as the CCC, WPA ( both of which my father worked), before going into the Army Air Corp.

Then there is the "Trickle Down Theory", where lower taxes on the weathy will be trickle down into towns like Pocahantas, how's that workin' out for you?

I do enjoy how Governor Huey Long (D) of LA, Explained the theory
to potential voter as he ran for office.

There are two ways to peel the bark off a tree as he referred to tax revenues.

1.You can start from the top down, which he called "Highpopalowerm',

or,

2. You can start form the bottom up, which he called, "Lowpopahirum"

So, how's that "Trickle Down" been working for Pocahontas.

Perhaps, American Corporations, which are flush with cash are learning that the workers in the counties that made those "Brown Shoes" can't afford to buy them.

Perhaps the U.S. Corporations should take a lesson from Henry Ford a Great American Capitalist, when he raised the mimimun wage and instituted the 40 hour work week.

It is rather simple ,the workers making the product should be able to purchase the consumer product they make.

I was being ironic with the trickle-up. I was alive and part of the workforce during the Reagan Administration.

Really,

I wonder how I have managed to "self-employed" since 1994 and paid my work force.

Oh, and in Illinois the minimum wage is $8.25/hr.

I know you Rich Rice and Cotton Farmers that made their money the old- fashioned way, BY INHERITING THE LAND.

Hey, did you get your Subsidy Check from the Government yet?

Do Farmer's even have to pay "minimum wage"? NO THEY DON'T!

Pretty SWEET, HUH?

My dad was a "share-cropper", at one time, and I rode to the cotton gin with a wagon with cotton pulled by a team of horses, around Trumann.

He moved on and gave me a chance to Graduate from College, and in 1973 Grad School in Chicago.

And I worked my way through College, and, took out Government Loans available and worked during Grad School.

I wish you could have been there to help, as I delivered Chicago Phone Books, on the South Side of Chicago in December of 1971.

Paid those Government Loans back, on time and with interest.

Don't tell me I don't know about Business.

You know how to INHERIT WEALTH don't you?

Or perhaps you married into your cushy life style which gives you that superior feeling.

Perhaps you were not being "ironic" but facetious.

So, do understand the difference between "Trickle Down" and "Pump-Priming", right.

It seems that most "right-wingers" always refer to "Trickle Up".

First time I believe I ever referred to it. And I'm not a right winger. I'm more of a moderate.
