$9 is not going to make them into federal taxpayers.
47% do not pay federal taxes now.
A high percentage of that 47% are retirees and super wealthy tax manipulaters. You people need to stop watching "Fox News" which isn't news at all.

People keep blaming Obama for our mess. It was during the Bush administration that we lost three of our largest factories.

Sorry pal, its his second term. You can't blame Bush anymore. This is Obama's creation. The blaming everyone else sh!t is out the door. You guys bought that hope and change bullcrap hook line and sinker. He has not created any more jobs than when first elected. Go ahead and google the state of the union fact checker and see how well he has done in office. The $9 an hour is just a ploy to dupe you some more. He is making millions now and when he gets out of office he will make even more. The funniest part is that all you guys think he gives a crap about you.

Why was the economy so good when we had unions? we had the best economy in the world, we were the greatest industrialized nation in the world, The rich was gitting richer, and anyone who wanted to work could provide for their family. But the rich wasn't satisfied, so with our governments help they moved the industry to 3rd world countries so they wouldn't have to pay decent wages, and then they let illegal immigrants come in and take the jobs we had left....THANKS TO BILL CLINTON(MEXICO) AND GEORGE BUSH(CHINA)AND MANY MORE.

If anything the minimum wage should be ZERO, eliminate that sucker.

All workers willing to work should show up on their street corner at 5:00AM with a packed lunch and when the 1%'er's needing nanny, a computer programmer, a chicken butcher, or a whore can show up and make an offer that is acceptable to the benevolent employer.

That is Capitalism at it's best, and ALL KNOW it is the only Constitutional way the "Trickle Down" theory works.

Oops!

The U.S. Constitution does not have the word CAPITALISM mentioned at all.

Humm, then how would raising the minimum wage be Unconstitutional,or UN- American.

When American Workers can't afford to buy the consumer products they produce such as a cars, shoes, shirts, furniture then America becomes a third world country.

Check it out, Henry Ford began the 40 hour work week and paid his workers enough to buy a car.

Humm, what a brilliant Capitalist.

You forgot Obama,it wasn't a union that sent waterloo packing, but i will assure you wont tell anyone how much you are going to make again, nor will the goverment if any jobs stay in the U.S. you can see how Obama has supported auto unions and half of the unions he took our tax money to support has sold out to china, now the jobs are gone, its simple if you want to make money then you will go into business for yourself, dont think you are going to get a job here thats going to pay you anymoney, infact you aren't going to get any job unless you are willing to go somewhere, there are jobs that start at 60,000 but you cant sit on you arse in this town and get it,if you dont make a 100,000 per year anymore you are going to live on cornbread, tryin to raise a family is costing more than it was 4 years ago,its like people trying to live on social securty,it was never ment to live on,only supplement, what you have gained from working and saving, now they tell us we are headed for 5 dollar gas,get ready Obama is going to furnish you some health care, the fummy part of that is your going to pay for what you thought you were going to get free, hope and change is kicking in,i so love it,now you will pay for what you get and cant avoid it but your going to need another thousand a month to keep up.

Big business wants to make the most profit they can and its hard to blame them for that. The part I don't like is they hire super lobby groups to get them great deals with out leaders so they get paid to move overseas. Years ago when Americans first started buying cheaper goods to save a buck they did not understand that it would come back to bite them by the loss of American jobs. Everytime you buy something made out of America you just helped another job leave America. The stores that now handle more American goods than anyone is the cheaper stores, Dollar General, Dollar Tree and such. Check them out they often have U.S. products that are just as low priced as the imports. And remember NAFTA was the SHAFTA to the American worker, and almost all our leaders supported it and look at us now.

Nafta facts: Bush 1 signed the nafta deal in 1992 and Clinton signed it into law and it went into effect 1-1-1994. Reagan also wanted NAFTA, any leader in the pocket of big business wanted Nafta no matter which party they were with. It was intended to be a "fair" trade aggrement to help the world economy and it did at the hardship of the American worker. Factories moved to Mexico and the illegals that wouldn't work came here to get on welfare along with the out of work Americans.
America will never be a great nation again because we havn't elected a working person to the office of president in years and the fact lobby groups own our leaders doesn't help.

Picture this, Harry has several children that are registered Lobbist and as such their job is to get connections to powerful leaders and get favors. Now I am sure old Harry wouldn't give his children "special" favors in their lobby work and I am sure the big companies that pay his kids millions don't expect them to get a favor from "daddy". Now Reid isn't the only leader with hard ties to Lobby groups, nearly all are connected and many work for them after leaving office. Now we all know what great work these leaders do for us so its just natural that lobby groups want to hire them at large pay packages!

Go sit in front of walmart, watch all the ppl comming out with the things they buy,if its not a food item it was most likely from a forgien country, most likely China,i would guess that 80% of the things carried out of the store are that way,but where are you going to buy anything thats made in the U.S.very few items do we have made here, and before long there will be less, unions and Obama care will force them out of our country and the jobs we do have are being subsitized by the tax payer, like g.m.

You got that right - Unions had a place in the early US what have they done now - supported inflated wages and drove companies over seas. There is no buy American loyalty anymore - those of you who voted for this socialist ransomed your children an grandchildrens future. The good old days are over - the US will just be another struggling country amoung others in the near future. Obama care has already cost this country many jobs and its just winding up - who do you think supports the minimum wage its passed on to us all - and when folks stop buying you losed demand - when you lose demand you lose the need for supply - and jobs follow supply - simple economics - you cant spend your way out of this mess

What drove the companies over seas was the free trade agreements,if it wasn't for that those companies would still be here, and still paying union scale, and that money would still be in circulation, and you would still have demand, and their still be need for supply. If the minimum wage went up to $9.00 per/hr. that would be an extra $70.00 per week, which would also go into circulation, which would increase supply and demand.

Ross Perot had it right,he said if they pass the free trade agreements, our jobs would leave with a giant sucking sound.
