This is very unfortunate in deed. Unfortunately......our society has become a EMPLOYER only economy, employees are the backbone of a entity or company and Managers must be good, moral, folks who know the HR and EEOC laws and follow them and some do in AR and the employees know it up front and there is no problems. We saw the Mayor and a Fire Chief violate policy and EEOC regulations, now the County Sheriff being sued. I personally naturally often advise folks to sue, Its only recourse for a bad manager who violates laws, or a agency or entity who knows better and taxpayers pay them to know better... a nice salary with meetings and conventions to attend on our dime to refresh on Human Resources and Policy. Many people just take it, its a shame, just taking it will not teach those violators a lesson, and often even litigation does not, but it gives employee some justice, but generally neither party gets what they want unless you go to a trial and that is rare. The county case is shaping up to be a mess, many more State and Federal Violations than the city, and the case is dealing with law enforcement. Costly it will be and citizens should cry out to fire these individuals and replace management especially when they end up in court. Cracker Barrell was allowed to continue his reign even tho his residency was in question for a year, two lawsuits, one in Tennesee, Folks, sue them if they break the law, you have that right, exercise it. Wish your family member little pain and suffering as he pursues any litigation, but if he has good lawyer, he will be ok and purservere. Its ultimately the people who can clean house if they just will.
Why is the Sheriff being sued?

You haven't heard? A former female firefighter didn't get hired at the Sheriff office so she is trying to get money out of the county now.

Ok, so what happened. Did this guy win agents the hospital. I am just wondering i know this kinda thing can take a long time. i believe he will win and i just want to see what happens to the hospital after. i also want to know if the county will say something about it. Everyone says he is suing the hospital but its county owned so is he not suing Randolph county? I all so want to say i respect that this guy is fighting for his rights and hope he nails them, no one should get hurt at work and have to suffer because of it and then get fired!!

He just got his right to sue from the EEOC and is going to get them now. i for one think that if the hospital is smart they will setteal out of Court with this guy. With everything happening with legal problems in Pocahontas ( police dep being sued, and now the hospital) if this hits the news who will want live here. Pocahontas needs to keep growing so there can be more job here then more folks will stay. who will want to start a business or move tom a town where the law enforcement and the hospital have been sued for wrong doing.
maybe so

This hospital maybe is being sued by someone but so is every hospital in the united states. If you want to use a hospital that doesn't have any pending law suits-- I am not sure where you should go. People own, operate, work in hospitals. People make mistakes and sometimes bad things happen. NO ONE not one nurse, doctor, lab tech, xray tech, physicial thereapiest would ever want anything to happen to their patients but sometimes it does. And so people need help finanically, or need to know that someone has heard their story so that everyone can learn from what happened to them. In order to accomplish what the person needs they file a law suit. It is a terrible thing for the person that is in the position that they need to file the suit and a terrible thing for the person ( or hospital) they are suing. Pray for all involved.

LOL, not all hospitals turn there back on there workers, and not all hospitals cover up things like 5 rivers but you are right some does need to pray for them!!!!! I also think that the hospital needs to ask for forgiveness for what they have done to there workers and the people they are suppose to care for.

Any Agency is only as good and successful as its leader. The city of Pocahontas was sued and payed over 200 grand to employees for wrong doing.....The County alledgedly just settled a case of failure to hire based on EEOC laws.... If money is involved here its a clear message.....Our AGENCIES AND ENTITIES ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THE LEADERS WE ELECT........Please WAKE UP SOON and stop believing the fibs......Its your town and mine........Not the Politicians!!! we just pay them to manage the affairs.........but not into a Federal court house........ TEA!

Its statistically said that its a employer friendly world and not employee friendly today.......Unless employees stand up for employee rights.....statistics tip to employees. Yes that is sueing someone. Now......its a fact the city of Pocahontas was busted cheating EMPLOYEES overtime money under FLSA. City was to comply with Fair labor Standard Act after 2004 and get into compliance. City had to pay a firefigter 4 yrs back pay for overtime violations....6 other firefightes..it happens. County just sued by same person who found these violations......alledgedly.... ..no news yet on outcome... but no news by our local payer we are being sued period....Randolph County Officials are telling the STAR what to do, what to print, what to say.......We stopped prescriptions a year ago because it was reported as a fact the STAR said " we will not print anything NEGATIVE Against our city or city officials". Well what if they got sued and lost and or had to pay money for damages. Does that mean it a positive or a negative. Hell fire! All outsiders say now they know whats going on in Randolph County and with a big LOL. TEA!

Five Rivers treats their employees great. I've worked at a few different places and that hospital is a lot more willing to "understand", not just fire you, and not judge you. Do a few things for me... 1-get a life so that you other things to do instead getting on topix and bashing a system you know nothing about, 2-if you wanna trash talk then identify yourself, 3- get your info straight.

JUST in-case anyone ever wondered, what happened with this?? He fought for 4 years, didn't win for being wrongfully fired, didn't win for work-mens comp. He did get $25,000 for medical bills and is now on SSI for the rest of his life. A sad ending for an amazing young man who only wanted to use his skills and his life to help others... He will never have a normal life again, can't walk long distances, and is in so much pain 24/7.

He fought for so long, and was bashed around the court. He was in so much pain and did all he could to get justice, but there is no such thing!
