Obam's green energy policies which include the use of corn to make ethanol have doubled corn prices.
Studies show that it takes more energy to produce ethanol from corn than the energy recovered when it is used.
Now that's a bright idea isn't it?
Meanwhile world food costs have risen because of this very stupid idea.

what? ethanol is used as a filler in gasoline to help lower our dependence on foreign oil and help with price of gas. if your talking about when the drought hit ummm that damage has already been done and over with...as a matter of fact" The agency said that on average, prices rose 1.4 percent in September, after remaining steady in July and August. Scorching heat and drought in the United States, Russia and Europe constricted agricultural production and pushed up prices of corn and soybeans to record highs, the report said. " and "the agency" is the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. so get real obama was not on some sort of "conspiracy" to raise food prices. nuff said.

It takes more oil to grow the corn than we get from the gas produced, think of the oil used in producing the corn, its a proven fact that we lose money using corn for fuel.

wait what?.. ok .. when you reallly sit down and think about it i'm serious .. it's all tied together. and ya know if we could grow enough corn over here to produce 100% ethanol for iowa alone where most of the corn is grown, would that not get us off foreign oil.. i think ... i would rather pay higher corn or other energy prices developed here in the united states rather than rely on foreign countries.

Ok nuts corn wont even cover the fuel used to grow it,what part of that do you not understand, corn takes a lot of fuel to water, also plant and the fertilizer has to be made and moverd with fuel, its a loosing proposition, its just a subsity for farmers which are also subsisdized, because there are goverment officials that own land.

OK get outta here with that bs ... farmers get subsidies... which pay for all of that stuff you were just talking about... yes your hard earn dollars are going to farmers to pay for their gas and other things ... most of them around there probably just use the money for new trucks and complain that they don't have any money for their farm ... but anyways...those subsidies help keep the cost of corn and other food DOWN.. yes down... we are all tied into the big picture if you would actually look at it... it's called the economy... and romney's way would take away those subsidies and probably invest it in oil... ok so that last statment was just me raving there .. but everything else was true... so you guys can get real... and if government officials own land i'm sure their not farming it or don't have enough time to farm it.. that's not were the subsidies go.

Obama has no control over food prices just like he has no control of gas and oil prices. It's called a free market economy. What we need is a wide spread pandemic to eliminate at least a quarter of the population, that will send the price of everything down and open up a ton of jobs.

I don't know, with a smaller population there couldn't be that many porches needing built or lawns needing mowed. The Mexicans only do jobs nobody else wants to do.

Yeah I agree Bush got blamed for things out of his control, every president does because it's much easier to point the finger at one man, just one of the negatives of the office I suppose. And BAM, good try, being lazy and working for less than minimum wage are two different things. I'm glad you had your voice heard on the issue, but maybe put a little more thought into the next response.

You must be refuring to the canadian pipeline, and yes Obama is raising the price of food ,its stupid to think higher gas prices will produce lower price food.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Pisces

There's a clash today between the past and the present. Someone wants to dwell nostalgically on the good old days but someone else is determined to forget all that and only concentrate on the here and now. The trouble is that neither side will want to concede to the other person's point of view, leading to bad feelings and upsets. If you are one of these people, try not to be too entrenched in your own opinions.
