there is nothing anywhere on any web site that says he ever received any awards. there is a roy meeks in a war, its the wrong one. roy meeks from here would of only been 10 years old during that war. nothing on him being Officer Candidate Hall of Fame Award Winner or serving Joint Chief of Staff.
several sites on how people fake & lie, was roy meeks a fake? something like military we take peoples word for it..

anyone can have stuff made online, does not mean that they earned it.! show us where they honored him with all these awards, if he was so great it should be EASY to find.
he was a pervert marrying a woman half his age.
I was in the Army and I do know what the silver star looks like on a uniform, if you look at the picture of Colonel Roy Meeks you will see that he is wearing the Silver Star.
it is Blue with a White band then a center red band then a white band then Blue. it is the lowest medal down next to his lapel.

I would guarantee that he wouldn't be wearing it on his uniform picture if he had not received the medal.

oh, that is soo funny, yep, there it is in a picture it must be true. that is not proof you idiot, have you ever heard of photo shop. why is there only 1 pic of him in uniform, same pic over and over. was the suit to expensive to rent for more pic to be taken over the years. 30 years of service and only 1 pic. you can buy anything on the internet, i will get you a purple heart for your birthday, i will even throw in a couple of silver stars just to make you smile.
any decorated military person you can find on the internet, where they were honored. the only roy meeks found was in the koren war, which would make the one here only 10 years old at the time.
if they was him, then damn he was a hero, at age 10.!

what part of 70% don't you understand?

"With regard to Silver Stars, we estimate the USMC and USCG listings to be at least 95% complete, but the listings for other branches of service are only about 70% complete. Absence of a name for a Silver Star should NOT be considered evidence that someone did NOT get the Silver Star, especially where USA/USAF/USN recipients are concerned."

Leave it alone, let it be. This man has died and regardless of his status, he did serve in the military. Because of what he and other military men and women have done, we are all able to publicly express ourselves. We all owe him and all military personnel our respect and gratitude. Think about where you might be this day and the rest of your life had it not been for military personnel keeping us not only free to express ourselves but safe, and the privilege of living in the greatest country in the world. RIP Roy Meeks and thank you for your service.

here3 is a website that says he was a colonel and was in special forces
http://www.specialoperations.org/taps.html
so either you didn't look hard enough or didn't look at all.
The man is dead , to the best of my knowledge he really never used that silver star and other awards for any public gain like most to the politicians here in the county would if they had them.
I don't remember anyone saying he was perfect , but he was a soldier and that part of his life should not be defiled.

Lets start making your Obit up.

Nobody but nobody got 2 silver stars in the Vietnam conflict
and your Colonel Roy doesn't show up on any registry for ever receiving one .
Check this site out for the real truth about Silver star recipents

And he isn't there
If he was telling these stories when he was alive and it wasn't true then it would be a violation of Federal Law.
The Col. Roy Meeks that I served with when He commanded the 4th ARSOC (TA)(ABN)(Prov) at Ft Shafter, HI had earned 2 silver stars in Vietnam. PLease keep in mind that because of some of the work he did was classified, these awards may not appear in public records.

And by the way....the official record of a soldier's awards is not on some web site.....it is on the soldiers DD Form 214 which is the record of their service. Col. Roy Meeks was a great Husband, Father, Soldier, and Patriot who did not flaunt his medals to show how great he was. All you had to do was meet him in person and you could tell the quality man he was RIP my comrade! You have earned your rest.

He was a real hero and not like john kerry he did not trade on that for political gain.
He also didn't throw away his medals and support the VC.

Col Roy E Meeks, a fine solder and a true gentleman.I have read and heard of accounts of his bravery, and, by reputation alone would follow this hero through hell and back. The sick dumb asses should keep their filthy mouths shut. The best part of them went down the drain with the unwanted after-birth. Wise up numb nuts.
