You state numbers but where did they get these numbers, there is "NO" record to man except the bible, never was, never will be,many bible scholars have went through the bible and re added these years up,two men of whom i am well aquainted and have many years of knoledge decided to do this for themselves and came up with the same as others,so where did these people you are quoting get their info, where did they start, where did they stop, without knowing this you are empty handed,i have explained where these numbers are,so you can do as others have done and then you can determine and quote the truth for yourself.
Aren't you going to tell us where the people you are quoting got this info?

if you are opened minded enough to study the history of the bible instead of the bible you will understand that the bible is history of the Jews written by the Jews because as with all histories the winners get to wright the history

Sad that some people who want to portray themselves as "Bible believing Christians" can be the most hateful and condemning of all people. I think they win few to Christ.

The truth is the Bible is true and so is gravity, relativity, algebra, addition, calculus, evolution, and that the earth is billions of years old. Understanding the chemistry and physics behind the sciences has only given me a greater appreciation of what God has done and the how of some of it. It is awesome.

I understand that ignorance is a comfortable place. Jesus and Paul did as well and fought against it. They brought light and truth. If you study the theory of relativity and begin to understand it, you will be struck at how what the Bible says about light agrees with relativity and visa-versa.

Christ died and was raised from the dead. All is possible with God.

You were doing fine until you got to the part about "raised from the dead". There is some very creative writing in the bible, but that doesn't make it true. If these guys were so smart and able to perform miracles, why didn't they have HDTV, IPODS and Corvettes? They did their best to document history in their time but now we have the means to know better. Anyone that believes these poor uneducated writers had it right is delusional.

Nutcases,

You entitled to your opinion. I'll stick with mine.

For the record, Paul of the NT was neither "poor" or "uneducated." Quite the contrary, he was very well educated, powerful and wealthy prior to his conversion. Still very powerful after being born again, but the source or the power changed.

You might study the NT and learn before you judge. As I said before, ignorance can be comfortable. It is no way to live though.

Well, part of the bible is history. It's when they get to the crazy stuff that you have to step back. You have to be a moron to ignore the evidence that we have now. That is a huge problem with the churches. Jesus, Moses and John played a very important part in our history. If you can look at the Grand Canyon and believe it was created in a day you are not exactly a genius!

I understand some of it "may" be history. But it's all the magic hokus-pokus like talking snakes and virgins giving birth and walking on water and raising the dead that discredits the whole thing. If a god exists and actually did create everything then it's clear it utilized natural processes over extremely long periods of time to accomplish it. Or else what would be the point of making it appear as though it were?

Why would God create billions of planets that we'll never be able to reach. Did God create everything for man or what? A few thousand years ago the whole universe consisted of a few thousand square miles in Africa. Are we not supposed to use the common sense that we were born with? The "magic" was all they had at one time. They couldn't understand anything otherwise.

I think one mistake many people make (non-Christians, Christians, etc.) is that the Bible is to assume written from a human perspective. While it is written to humans by humans, the inspiration is from another place, a timeless place, a spiritual place.

There is certainly a "dimensionality" to existance. String theory claims at least 11 dimensions and it is the most popular theory currently. We live in 4 dimensions (time and space). I think that spirituality is one of those 7 left.

The Bible essentially says it is not of this world (4 dimensions). Relativity opens the door to things like the transfiguration on the mount where Jesus met with Moses, etc., and Peter wanted to build an alter. Jesus pushed back on that, he understood the past and the future and implications of such a thing.

Regarding issues of miracles and Corvettes, there are issues in relativity of paradox that will not allow such things. But relativity will allow for physical changes (energy/mass transmutation, etc.) that will allow for healing, regrowing an arm, etc.

Matter & energy interchangeable in real-time.

An opinion: yes.

Genesis is figurative, a metaphor for the development of humans from a primitive state to an intellectual state where concience begins to override base impulses. Our "natural man" versus "spiritual man" struggle.

"Adam" is the figure for man.

We left the garden when we became aware of the greater realities of love, responsibility, etc.

It is an awakening, an "awareness". It is not found in the earlier humans that were more in touch with natural survival needs of our fellow animals. My dogs still live in the garden. They are pure.

Only God Knows for sure?

God keeps trying to help humans by giving us a few clues as we use our feeble brain to understand things things like Carbon dating, archaeology, palentology,
evolution, astronomy, physics, chemistry physiology,etc.

All of these subjects help us understand "God's Laws" of the the World God created.

These are what God gave us to enjoy and understand.

By understanding those mysteries God Created, we
grow to understand the Greatness of God, and by accepting the Love of God by sending his Son to and I paraphrase a President of a prestigious Southern Baptist University, Baylor University, God sent his Son to save us from our Sins NOT our minds.

So perhaps we should start to ask,

How old is God?
