I'll not make a prediction about the outcome of the vote, but I will highlight some facts that you may not be aware of:
1. The AP tax is approx 200k to 250k per year. A large percent of that tax comes from visitors, not residents. A 1% sales tax increase will generate approximately 1.2 million dollars per year. Visitors will not be effected very much by the change, but residents will see a huge tax increase.
2. What is not being talked about is the need for another 1% sales tax increase we need to support our hospital. Also, there is another 1% Arkansas state sales tax increase which takes effect on 1 July.
Vote not only with your heart, but also with your mind. Be careful what you ask for because you may just get it. Semper Fi!
Ben, I use to come in your store a lot, you help me a lot when we lost our home, I agree with you, but the stupid thing passed, I am a senior not an elderly one but a senior, I WILL NOT use this stupid water park and most of the POOR seniors will not, I can barely afford my medication & doctor visits, I do not live in the city limits but will have to pay the stupid tax if I shop in Pocahontas, this is for the rich, the few who wanted it, I read a post on the hospital may have to be sold, well DUH! a friend of out son broke his leg, the x-ray there did not show it broke, the mom took her child to another hospital, they found the break, fixed it!! ya think the town of Pocahontas is lil fish trying to make it a ocean? it will never ever be a tourist attraction!!! there is nothing here & a fancy water park won't make it one either, because after it is built they will complain about keeping it maintained!!! then will want to tax some more! never ending wanna be tourist nothing!

I hope and pray your situation improves. We are here on this Earth to help others as much as we are able. God willing, I'll never stop giving my all. I must say, we never win all of our battles, but we keep the faith. I truly believe in our democratic system. When the majority has spoken, we must try our best to support them. After all, if we won an election, we'd want the opposition's support. That's our way of life. I know who you are and will always try to help you in the future. God Bless you, Ben

our one of the good guys Ben, there has never been a doubt in my mind about that, things are getting better, we still have a ways to finish but we are getting there slowly, God never leaves us or forsakes us, I lean on His promises
