Jimmy Waterworth used dymamite to blast the foundation of the train bridge. When it was on the ground Shannon Salvage Co. cut it up and sold it for scrap at the Steel Mill at Newport Ar. Jim,s Brother Don Waterworth wanted to save & preserve the Bridge.

city didn't own the bridge. demolition guy got the salvage. he took the brass/copper ring and sold the rest locally for salvage.

The city got nothing. the city and county didn't own it. the rail road owned the rails ties ect, I think the county bought the ballast rock and used it on the roads.

The city and county didn't get rid of it. They didn't own it in the first place. People wanted them to buy it from the railroad.
