They should have taken that $14000.00 check they gave to Joe Grider that he went to Disney world on and applied that towards the $7 million pool that the idiots voted for. When will the real tax payers (not govt moochers) finally take a stand in this community and take control back over?

The hospital needs the communities help. When possible use them.

We need our hospital. It will be one of the things you don't know what you had until it is gone.

It was said for new business to come to Pocahontas we need this pool complex.

Now ask yourselves when a new business is looking and we have a pool complex but no Hospital will that bring them to our area?

I'm so baffled by the news: 1/4 of Americans don't know the Earth revolves around the Sun. It makes me wonder if the ship is sinking too rapidly. I do know governments cannot sustain negative balance sheets for long periods of time. Secondly, I know the public cannot continue being squeezed for more taxes in a recession. So, my question is: Have we gone too far with Tax and Spend policies? Time will tell all. IMHO, we need new blood in office to enable a fresh view of where we stand, fiscally, financially, politically, ethically, and responsibly. The public needs transparency and accountability. Therefore, put on your thinking caps, and remember 3 Vs; 1. Vett, 2. Verify, and 3. Vote!

I'm all for allowing money for the water complex. Lets sit back though and take a look. I am positive that we can get a very nice pool complex for half of that amount. Why not take a step back and reconsider the complex and not go over board. Lets budget 3 million dollars for the pool which would accommodate this town but throw us into something so big that the population can't sustain. And invest the other 4 million into our hospital which I do believe we need... If that money can be used to really help our community bc as it stands you literally have to go to Jonesboro for everything
As far as city counsel goes. They do deserve to get paid well... As long as there actions justify the amount. We have some good people in and some that create more problems than answers. I tell you there are two young men with amazing ideas and the drive and gumption. I'd love to see them in a seat. They are doing more for Pocahontas in these last few months than the city has in years!!!

It would be a grand day to see opposition for every incumbent position in the county. The competition would give voters more choices to select qualified politicians. There are so many areas of opportunity for our great county. Take a step forward, not back. Lisa, please convince those two people you mentioned, to run for office this year. God bless all the selfless people who want to make our communities better. Hard work, clear vision, and perseverance go a long way.
