This was a long time ago but does anyone remember the man that flew his plane under the Black River bridge? I was thinking his last name was Brown.

I remember a jet pilot from around this area that would fly over and sometimes break the sound barrier. I saw him make a few circles over Pocahontas back in the mid 1960's. Does anyone have anymore information on either of these pilots?

Thank you Carol.
I just finished watching the film,'The Flight Of The Phoenix' on the TCM channel. That got me to remembering about the flight under Black River bridge. It would be nice to talk to someone who's familiar with the history of Pocahontas and Randolph County. We have a rich history that deserves to be remembered and discussed.

Once again, thank you Carol.

I have head of this before. I was thinking his name was Gad Brown. I think he was a car dealer in town and was in a Piper Cub. I think it happened the late 50's or early 60's.

Who was the jet pilot around 1967? I saw that with my own eyes but it's been a while since I thought about it or talked to someone like you folks here. I forgot about Willard, he definitely would know. thank you all for giving me a history lesson.

Does anyone recall the gentleman that was interviewed on KAIT 8 back in the summer? He told several stories of things that happened all the way back to the Civil War. He had a long beard.
