Christianity is Absurd

At the same time that Christians claim to worship God as an omnipotent, omnipresent, omni-benevolent being, they make him out to be an incompetent bumbler. Or worse. Simple forgiveness is beyond his capacities. God must "sacrifice himself to himself to change a rule he made himself!"

This is not only an absurdity, it's an essential absurdity. It's present in almost all forms of Christianity, and one can scarcely remove it and remain a Christian in anything but name. By definition, all Christians worship Christ in some form and most worship him as a savior.

But what, exactly, is he saving us from? Though it varies from church to church, no matter what they call it, it's God himself. A hell created by God, a world fallen as a result of God's negligence, a separation from God imposed... by God.

Christianity certainly isn't the first religion to promote appeasement of its gods, and if it were merely another supernatural protection racket, it would be bad enough. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. Christians elevate appeasement to the realm of "personal relationship", transforming their religion into a true monstrosity.

This is the type of "relationship" that abused wives have with their husbands, that brainwashed hostages have with their captors. It is known in clinical circles as Stockholm Syndrome. Should it come as any surprise that the cries of the church, "The Bride of Christ" sound much like the cries of an abused wife attempting to protect her husband?

"He must beat me."
"I deserve it."
"He has no choice."
"It's for my own good."

These excuses don't work for human abusers, and they work even less well for God. For if God is omnipotent, he must have a choice. And if we're flawed, we are only flawed because that is the way he made us.(No excuses that we ruined his perfect creation. A truly perfect creation does not self-destruct.) If the Christian God does exist,(and I see no reason to believe that he does), he's not worthy of the name.

And that is the ultimate absurdity of Christianity.

Ah, but my atheistic brethren, you forget the one argument all Christians use when backed into a theological discussion corner.....

The Lord works in mysterious ways
His wonders to perform.

So what has your God done in your life? I will tell you what Christ has done for me. He died for me on the cross so that I can have eternal life with him the way we were created in the beginning. If I'm guilty because of Adam's sin then why can't I be free because of the blood of Christ? He has brought me peace in a way I've never know before in my life.

I was raised in a bad, awful religion. Where you have to believe everything you are taught without question? You had to study books and magizines instead of the bible. You are not allowed to doubt if you do your shunned or disfellowshipped from the congregation if you were baptized as one of their followers. Thank you Jesus that I
seen right through their garbage.

It was a place where people looked down their noses at you if you didn't dress right, act right, or heaven forbid married out of the belief.

I wasn't treated right from the time I can remember in that so called truth. I remember being left out of all the kids get togethers. I remember when I was old enough to get a job and my job came first because I was helping feed and clothe a family of 7 the so called elder came up to me and said that I was getting kicked off the ministry school if I didn't start giving my talks when tgey were asigned. Little did he know what the home front was like nor did he care. All he cared about was his precious ministry school and 5 minute talks. I left that Sunday and never showed my face again in that church.

Anyway I read the king james bible and realized how wrong and mind controlling that religion was being. Never will I ever submit to a religion again. Jesus's words have set me truely free. Im depression free, my personal life is the best its ever been. No more money problems. Everything is just better with Jesus in my life. So you can say what you want but I'm a Jesus believer. I have never ever had this kind of freedom and live in my life as I do now.

Ok. You people are rediculas. The " bible" is just a novel that man made up. There's no proof that anybody died for us and if someone did wouldn't there be a little bit of proof. I mean come on there is proof of everything else in this word but no proof that anything in the "bible" is real. It's another version of Steven King.. Someone wrote a book and people took this author serious. It's just a book and people are so predicable believe lies that have no proof anything is truly real. Ask a sientist what they think and they will show you facts the truth. Really think about it

Because it interests me. If you're truly a believer then why do you care that I care?

The vast majority of hillbilly Arkansas "Christians" have no clue as to the origins of religion....including the fact that their churches evolved from the Catholic Church. The Pentecostals shouting, dancing, and speaking in "tongues" probably have no knowledge of Arianism, the emperor Constantine, the First Council of Nicaea, Thomas Aquinas. The Baptists are ignorant of the fact that Pope Clement 1 played a role in that church's ancient history. Very few Christians are aware of the devious scheming, murderous invasions, pillaging, raping, and self-serving annihilations of millions of people that took place to insure their present church's existence.
Most hillbilly (and urban dwelling) Christians attending church and calling themselves Christians have little knowledge of their church's history. They sit in their pews with piety, a study in benevolence, listening to their respective pastors sermons....neither knowing or caring whether or not those pastors have a clue as to the church's history, either.
In my opinion, church members are, for the most part, made up of ignorant people whose fear of an, alleged, eternal pit of fire and brimstone, should they not be "saved" and "cleansed", make them easy marks for shysters promising eternal residency in a "heavenly home" replete with their own mansion, streets of gold, and free harps for everyone. There's only one catch (actually, lots more)....you have to fork over 10% of your wages (in this life) in order to, eventually, claim title to that golden-street mansion....or the harp....in the "after-life".
What I'm getting at is.....do some reading, research your church, learn how religion came to be, keep an open mind. Everything that questions religion is not "of the Devil" (another figment of some long-ago ruler's imagination).

The Bible has always been used for tyrants and the political elite to brainwash people to give up their earthly property, to turn the other cheek when they are oppressed, and to ban basic human needs like sex and so on.

If you want to believe christianity - Go ahead further enslave yourself.

Well I think you people are a joke. Quit quoting the bible like it all is real. Nothing in the bible makes since. It just another book. If it were history then there would be a little evidence that it happened. The tomb in witch a man rose from the dead would be marked don't you think. The ark that some guy placed one of every animal on, don't you think the biggest boat that ever exsisted you be somewhere. Then very beginning of the book should let you know it's just science-fiction. Only starting out with two people if that were the case then eww ever thought of insest. How else would every body be here. Hmmm.Everyone should open their eyes and expand their brains. No way anything in that book is real and all you "Christians" looking down on people believeing the way I do. Hahahahaha when you are the dumb asses that took a book for guidance to seriously. Just get over yourselves and quit preeching something that really makes no since. Grrrrr. And Jesus was a Jew if not a Jew then your not going to "heaven" he died for the Jews not for all man kind. Hmmmmmmm

Hahaha. Maybe you should have taken a spelling book as guidance. Oh I am sorry I can't beat your superior scientific intellectual brilliance. Maybe we can play a game I have a chance in winning. Scrabble maybe. Lmao. Stop trying to tell people their beliefs are ignorant when you write at a fourth grader's level.

Somebody has been drinking water from the wrong stump. You non believers are surely swooned by your undoings of worldly wisdom. And, some of you so called believers need a good lesson on man made religions and Phariseeism. Make me suspect you may be using the same dipper.
