Who else remembers the weather being like this when u were a kid and not even considering u would miss a week of school? much less the amount our kids have missed this year. I mean seriously this is crazy. It's fine when the roads r bad but when it's been above freezing for two days. Cancelling school for a week at a time cause a few can't make it is causing big problems for the many I vote resign Mr. Blaxton this school year has proven ur incompetence.

And I bet you are one of the parents that keep their kids home for a cough. If you want to get mr Blaxton out of his position, you are too late. They allready voted him in this year. He's doing this out of safety for the sake of the bus drivers and the liability of the students.

I'm not saying he should put anyone in danger what I'm saying is when I was a student here and blaxton was just a peon like he obviously still should be school was open on days like tomorrow and the few people who couldn't make it were exempt from penalty. And that was a better system.

Times have changed...this is a lawsuit happy culture now. Plus, take a look at the rest of NEA and why do you think the state has a waiver system in place? Goodness!
...."and the few people who couldn't make it were exempt from penalty"....do you know anything about school/state regulations? Attendance policies, reporting procedures, etc? Do you know how much less control the districts have now?
He is someone you should respect tremendously. You must not know what kind of man he is, so don't start a thread just to bash him.

There is no reason Blaxton should resign, it is not like every other school is in session and he chooses to keep ours closed. Every school around here is closed. Have you traveled the side roads? They were horrible Thursday afternoon. How many kids' safety is worth it to you so your kids can go to school? I would rather have mine at home than to risk mine or any other kids lives.

Mr. Blaxton kept the safety in mind about closing the schools. We are a big district with lots of gravel roads. Would you want your children on a bus on 4 inch ice covered roads? Not mine and do you honestly think Blaxton made the decision alone? I thank the district for keeping our kids safe

Get off your fat ass and go drive around on the county roads and see for yourself how dangerous they are. He is making a sound decision and he cares about the schools AND the kids. You must hate the fact you are having to watch your children. If you don't like raising kids, then quit popping them out like gremlins!

I agree that its crazy. But come on its not the schools fault. It all comes down to our city not cleaning the roads off the way they did when we were in school. So what anyway. They will just lose their spring break. Why do they need it? They've had 2 solid weeks off due to the snow this year. I think they should hit the books from here on out and stay in them so that they can catch up.
