What is the motive for this guy to kill him? I'm not arguing with you, I'm just curious...

I am not exactly sure what was said. All I heard was it was some big guy around town that was dateing his wife. As I said I do not know all of the facts but supposedly he had done it out of jelously or something. I don't know so please don't hold me too it.

guest- Do you know how many boys my daddy said could not date me? Well guess what? My daddy is STILL ALIVE. People do not go around killing other people because he said no. Think about that.

It is sad that Ron was killed for some silly reason. It is also sad that this county is attempting to try another death penalty case, when will they learn it takes a smart DA and judge to make a case stick. It would be cheaper and faster for the county to plea bargain the case for 30 or so years.

so instead of paying for a trial to try for the death penalty, we should plea bargain for 30 years and house this moron, feed him, cloth him and who knows what else we will pay for.GIVE ME A BREAK! He killed a man, he should be killed in a much worse way, but I know we can't cause him harm, it goes against his CONSTITUTIONAL rights....BLAH BLAH BLAH!

NO , read slowly and understand: Randolph County has a very bad track record concerning the death penalty cases. It cost a lot of money to do a death case because the anti death folks will come to the aid of the killer and the county has to keep spending at every court hearing. Our DA's and judge don't seem to be able to make a death penalty case stand up in a higher court it cost the state and county big money. Now if a person gets the death sentence to stand up it takes about 15 years to go through the courts, so that blows the hell out of the spending money or saving money fact. Right or wrong this seems to be the law of the land. Of course you could always drag him from the courthouse and hang him on the square and spare a trial.

I do agree with that, let's just hang him if he is found guilty.

i think whatever happens to the boy, death penalty or whatever needs to happen to Ron's wife shirley. She is the one who helped with the entire thing. what happened was ron's daughter came up pregnant and she is 15 and he got pissed and beat the hell out of her (april) and then beat the hell out of shirley his wife. whatever he may have done...its not worth what happened to him. he didnt deserve to die like that, i really liked him.

u really do not know what u are talking about. for 1 thing a person has the right to 1 and only 1 free appeal on their case. anymore than that they have to pay for themselves. it does not take 15 years to try a case. all these people have nothing else to do in jail but sit around and think. but i will agree there should be stiffer laws for things and jails and prisons should be harder on the inmates. thye have more rights than we do and get better medical/dental/ and eye caree than we the taxpapyers do. the better part of the taxpapers can not afford helth care for themselves and family. things need to change so write your congressman and state reps and anyone else you can think of to help change things.

Now you see why I said read slowly.Any person filing an appeal can file an "affidavit of pauper" and get a free lawyer. Also in death penalty case there is a lot of groups that will furnish money to fight for a person facing death.
And I did not say it took "15 years" to try a case I said it took about 15 years to get through the court system. Why do you think people that get the needle stay on death row for so long? ANSWER: Their case is going the appeal process of the courts. Also folks with money hardly ever get the death penalty, only 3% of people on death row have money.

listen guys i knew the boy personally he wouldn't do this and ron cathy was not a good man i don't care if he is dead the man had alot of enemies and the teenager had no motif to kill him and the teen does NOT deserve to die so quit saying that he is a kid what would you do if your kids were in that situation say the same crap your saying now 'hang him high' well forget you guys he is a boy and were not even sure if he did it so get a life and quit judging him and the next time you deside to do something so stupid put yourself in his position and see what you think then

He was 19, he's no longer a kid, he is an adult. He should be tried as an adult, and if and when hes found guilty then he should hang, as an adult. So get over the fact that hes not a kid anymore.

I just want to say that for everyone's Info. that This 19 year old is completely InNoCENT. I know this for certain. Yes its true that his girlfriend( April ) was pregnant by him and her father was very abusive towards her even before the pregnancy. So if any one had motive or reason to harm this man it would be her(April) before him. He was absolutely in love with her and would even take the blame for something that he didn't do if she asked him too. Second of all she has not shed a tear about her dad's death and even bragged about all the things of her dad's she is getting such as a business and money from the house that is going to be sold that belonged to her dad. so Maybe everybody should stop pointing all the blame at this teenager who has had the worst possible upbringing and hardships since he came into this world. Also just about 2 months ago she dumped him for a 30-something year old man that she slept with the day she went into labor. So once she got what she wanted she was through with him, and bragged about things no one would brag about if their boyfriend had actually been responsible for fathers death. i think people will see shortly when all the facts come to light. she will be where he is also. if not worse.
