LITTLE ROCK, Ark.(AP) The FBI plans to announce dozens of arrests from a major four-year investigation into corruption in eastern Arkansas.

Authorities have called a 2 p.m. press conference in Helena to announce the results of the investigation.

FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jason Pack tells The Associated Press that dozens of people were arrested Tuesday morning, with more indicted. Five law enforcement officers were among those arrested.

Those indicted in the investigation are expected to appear in federal court in Little Rock on Thursday.

Peck says authorities continue to conduct search warrants in eastern Arkansas. He declined to specify what the nature of the charges was in advance of the press conference.

Federal authorities in Helena-West Helena announced Tuesday that the four-year investigation dubbed "Operation Delta Blues" led to the indictment of 70 people.

The FBI says the focus of the investigation was corrupt law officers dealing with convicted felons who, in some cases, were convicted murderers.

U.S. Attorney Christopher Thyer says the five law offices worked in Phillips and Lee counties.

Thyer says 800 state and federal law enforcement officers fanned out and arrested 51 suspects. Thyer says 14 suspects are still being sought and five were in custody when the arrests began.

The indictments are spread among seven

My personal opinion is that it is over. Pocahontas will not fix what is wrong because of who is wrong. We will never hear anything more from the raid because they are afraid to deal with the guilty.

Doubtful.....Or they are obtaining serious witness statments from arrests, investigations to get their indictments. Or they just did all this to make citizens think they are getting corrupt idividuals for drugs and money laundering. Thats doubtful. Either way, our fine city has been sullied by lawsuits, raids and piss poor news regarding officials and just back up and figure for a moment.....when was the last big drug bust or raid for any narcotic in this area? Hundreds of complaints, reports, but no news about serious busts or raids. Who is getting a way with picking their crops right now just in time to profit? TEA

If they have arrested that many there will be a few that now that they are caught will big ol babies and start squealing like little piggies to get themselves outta of some of the charges or to lessen their charges and start rolling over on others. Then maybe some of them will be wetting their britches and start squealing and it goes on and on. I figure its not over, far from it, it sounds like to me by just reading what's been posted.

Contrary......they are coming after the officials. Why its so quiet. Officials can keep thier shit under that white collar for so long. Use our tax dollars to stay medicated on anxiety medication and heart pills while they wait it out or in some cases they will go ahead and retire. Little people talk too much. Feds will use the little people later in the trials. What are we hearing??? Not a squeek peep! The law dogs in the State Cars are doing what they need to do to get those indictments and arrests. They want to look good too. TEA!

HEAR HEAR. Dam Lawsuits are back on us taxpayers too. City and County! Hell fire....Cant you vote the BUMS OUT?? Someone should pay attention to elections more too. Shame on us, The folks here in charge are witholding a lot of information from the people. Just like Eric Holder, Or they call him Eric Witholder now. Shame on our top Law Enforcement officer there in white house too. Folks, Get involved. You are seriously losing your Freedoms and Liberties because of who you have elected and then you give them the run of the house and go about your business. NOT THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE! We give them a job, our business and they keep the business under the radar annually. Whats in your pocket? And YES...the FED is coming. TEA!
