Get qualified people in their position,(no brainer), come on people, I believe if a problem keeps repeating itself, change needs to happen. There are to many people out there that have the experience and can get the job done, let the people go that are not doing their job and set standards for all employees, not just some.

If the hospital closes all services except the ER then they should close the building. Emergency rooms are typically money losers. So many people come to the emergency room when they can't get in to a physician's office because they owe the office money. These people don't pay their ER bills either. Then there are those that have true emergency but don't have any money, any insurance or have a huge deductible and they don't pay for the ER care. If the hospital doesn't have some other source of payment besides ER then it will end up closed. Ask Corning - ask Cherokee Village. They both tried shutting down everything but ER. It just doesn't work. The community must support the hospital by having their blood test, xrays, and admission for treatment of those kinds of illness they are capable of treating at FRMC. If people don't see the seriousness of this situation I am fearful of what the long term outcome might be.......... I hope the hospital isn't at a point of no return. I want it to be successful. I have family that do go to the hospital there and we don't want to travel for hospitalization.
GET GOOD HELP THEN..EMPLOYEE PEOPLE THAT WILL MAKE PEOPLE PROUD TO COME TO THE HOSPITAL..

I guess all you people that complain will be happy when we do not have a hospital within 40 miles. Some people might not make it that far.

When it is your loved one with a medical emergency that needs help RIGHT NOW you will rethink that....but it will be too late.

there is a need for a hospital locally, trust me you don't want to end up like sharp county when their hospital closed. I had a friends mother died of a heart attack that she mostly likely would had survive if they got her to a hospital quicker then having to drive all the was to fulton county hospital. think twice before you think about not having a hospital close by.

better vote against the pool tax if you want to keep the hospital because it's going to come down to another penny tax if you want to keep our hospital.

There is absolutly no truth to your statement. In no way is passing or not passing the pool tax going to affect the hospital. If the people of Pocahontas what to grow as a community we have to expand, we have to improve and the pool is a great idea. If you want your to town to role over and die just vote no for the pool and keep bad mouthing the hospital. If you want your town to improve vote yes and use your local hospital, and most important. PAY YOUR MEDICAL BILLS, IT IS NOT A FREE WALK-IN CLINIC.

there is truth to my statement another tax has been talked about for the hospital what i'm telling the voters which tax would you rather have another one for the hospital or one for the pool. I would vote for another tax to save the hospital and forget the pool.

So, does it come down to a choice between a pool or a hospital? I believe I'd think twice...
Maybe some of you think you can afford to pay both taxes. Look at the situation now... A tax for the hospital is already in place, but the hospital is forced to beg the council monthly for the money.
If the pool tax passes, remember there is about $650000 yearly revenue expected just for maintenance.... Can that be possible? How expensive a burden will this pool be? Over the expected life and possible 27 year retirement of debt, that's almost 20 million dollars for pool upkeep. Put yer pencil to that...

Why don't you put your pencil to this? Look at it this way, here you have a hospital that is going out of business. Why, well let me say this! They have rent on buildings of a little over $8,000.00 a month. YES,$8,000.00 a month! How much is that a year? You still got your pencil down and figures on the way. Now lets see what else we can come up with. How about trying to keeping up with the Jones! Doctors in Jonesboro, Paragould, Memphis and Little Rock. If you are sick and need an operation, who are you going to call? Sure aren't going to be ghostbusters. You still got your pencil? Now! Lets do one more idea.. Wait, did I say idea? Now that's a lonely word. IDEA! That's a problem at the very start so many high cost ideas the board comes up with ! As long they keep bring up so many diffient things this is going to break the bank! This hospital not going to last even with another 1/2 or a 1 penny tax as lone they keep doing ideas it comes with a higher cost on rent . I believe that they need to change the whole board! Let it be at the start and that 1cent would cover the hospital in all! Still got your pencil? Write down 2 words, FOR SALE! Walnut Ridge Arkansas is doing well! I wonder who own them and how long? As for the pools young and old could benefit and the hospital is a diffient source that is run by the hospital board! Now let's finish with your pencil. VOTE YES TO THE FUTURE PROJECT SPLASH PARK!

Sound like you are blaming the hospital board for hospital financial problems.... What's all the rent figures you toss around? You know so much, you should run the board.

Sounds like someone needs to assess if one of the departments can move into one of the rented buildings with another department. Maybe the business office could move back to the hospital proper? Or the wound clinic could move in with PT? Or maybe ( surely) administration or the city council has already considered all those moves and it isn't practical. I believe Walnut Ridge hospital is still county owned but managed by St Bernard's. Maybe the city council should consider or maybe they have considered getting someone with hospital business experience to manage FRMC. One can hear lots of rumors about what is happening or going to happen with the hospital but some of those rumors have been interesting. Consider combining departments so that there is one manager over more than one department which would unfortunately eliminate a few positions but would be a cost savings on manager salaries. I for one want them to try anything to keep the place open and working.
