There is no one to blame but ourselves for the hospital problem. Bad choices have been made by individuals, as well as by management. Those who seek to blame a specific political party are clueless and counterproductive.
And, things sometimes change. Just get over it.

I have been in the medical field for years, and what wrong with most small hospital is that send all patients to a bigger hospital. Now thatthe goverment is cutting payment to medical places, and that are trying to cut more medicare and people social sec. checks that had work for years to put in the system. Then you got these people thats use the ER room for a Dr. Office. Once again the income for the medical field has decrease and the out going exspense has increase on everthing. Now how can bussiness can that a float. People of Randolph co. need to ask you're Dr. to do all youre testing and admited you to FRMC. Last thing in courage you/re Dr to be A DR and treated. Now that Dr Regan going no one want to see their patient i n the hospital, its take up to much time and they get very little pay to see a inpatient.
Wait a sec!You did mean to say that you were in the feild growing medical maryjane, now that is not the same as being in the medical feild, that is a completely different feild, get you're feilds lined out.

What it comes down to is that it costs a small fortune to run a hospital. One problem is that the ER can't really turn anyone away, and if the patient has no insurance, they pretty much have to eat that cost. Furthermore, Medicare has certain guidelines that must be followed in order for them to pay for services. If they aren't followed exactly, or if a patient develops a secondary infection while patient is in hospital, they won't pay. These and many other things added together have caused this pro lem. It isn't administration alone. So many factors.
person can be turned down by the ER, a person will be triaged and depends on what the medical need is, will determine if you will receive treatment or be told to go to dr office. too many people feel like they are entitled and those who don't or won'tay have caused financial burdens on hospitals and taxpayers

Our hospital has saved many people from dying including my immediate family! Did they ship them yes! Did they stabilize them- yes! For all you who bad mouth our hospital , lets see who you need or call if it is an emergency! Or will they possibly not make it if they have to be transported to walnut ridge or Jonesboro! When someone is truly having an emergency you don't have 15 min or 45! You might say you wouldn't go to our hospital but when it comes down to it you will ask for immediate help and that is FRMC! Good luck with that! Hope ur family makes the drive to Jonesboro to live!

If the hospital closes all services except the ER then they should close the building. Emergency rooms are typically money losers. So many people come to the emergency room when they can't get in to a physician's office because they owe the office money. These people don't pay their ER bills either. Then there are those that have true emergency but don't have any money, any insurance or have a huge deductible and they don't pay for the ER care. If the hospital doesn't have some other source of payment besides ER then it will end up closed. Ask Corning - ask Cherokee Village. They both tried shutting down everything but ER. It just doesn't work. The community must support the hospital by having their blood test, xrays, and admission for treatment of those kinds of illness they are capable of treating at FRMC. If people don't see the seriousness of this situation I am fearful of what the long term outcome might be.......... I hope the hospital isn't at a point of no return. I want it to be successful. I have family that do go to the hospital there and we don't want to travel for hospitalization.

your city council and others are looking for a pool to save the town, maybe you should tell them the hospital is more important then a swim team.

If staffing changes were made people would be more apt to using five rivers. But at the moment they have staff that think they are giant fish in a little pond when really they are parasites in the ocean. I do not want to see our E.R. close but to say that the current staff is talented is a stretch to say the least. Yes they have a few talented staff members but the rest have killed what little reputation the hospital had. You can't treat every patient that walks through the door as a drug seeker or cry baby, because when you do, people die. Oh and let we forget you should listen to your patient, just because M.D. follows someone's name does not mean they live in an ivory tower, patients still know if it hurts or does not feel right. Hope it stays open but major changes are needed.

<quoted text> I'll agree, Dr. Hall is a great doctor. I don't know anything about the nurse.
Dr hall is an idiot that cannot treat his way out of a bedpan. he is rude and unable to tell the difference between a kidney stone and migraine headache.
his dislike for patients and ther families is evident by how he treats them and is a big problem for the hospital. the community is taking a stand and the numbers are showing that. less go to the hospital than ever. for sure not many that see him in the er, if they have insurance and have a choice, will see him a second time.
it is also, hard to be around a virus and not get infected. frmc is oozing puss from the rotten dr hall and staff!

I was told by a reliable source they were about to close the surgery department down. I guess they spent all that money for the heart cath lab and now more money wasted.
well we all knew the surgery dept. would go down hill when u know who was put in as super. that dept. lost some really good help. to much BS went on and the good employees had enough... the only way for this hospital to stay open is to get people in charge that really give a dam....
