POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT)- The Pocahontas Police Department arrested 8 people in a meth related raid.

Pocahontas Police say the 8 people are charged with possession with intent to manufacture, and unlawful distribution of Pseudoephedrine pills. The charges are a Class D Felony.

Police say the arrests stem from an ongoing investigation.

The people arrested are: Melanie Deloache, Christopher Simpson, Teresa Tribble, Angela Murphy, Sherry Baltz, Michael Burgess, Lowell Lawson, and Sarah Pratt.

Police also say this is a classic example of people buying over the counter pills such as Claritin and Sudafed and then re-selling the pills to others who use them to make meth.

Pocahontas Police say the goal of their investigation is to reduce or dramatically slow down the supply of pseudoephedrine pills to people making meth, which in turn may slow down the amount of meth on the streets in the community.

Police say more arrests are possible.

Not exactly the "usual suspects" are they? This is just going to get worse as the economy declines further.

Maybe this will set an example for others that think it is an easy way to make a few extra bucks. A 'Class D Felony' is not my idea of a laughing matter. You never know who is watching. It did say this had been an ongoing investigation. Who knows how long they have been watching and taking notes.

keep on doing them drugs, pretty soon it will be your heart that expands, and then you would have wished you would have used that expanded mind of yours to quit.
