I get your frustration, but you make so many unsupported & judgmental assertions I wonder if they are factual or just perceptual. The real problem lies not so much in the welfare system as in the disparity & bureaucracy that underpins our current economic system (esp. in places like AR where the min. wage is 4th lowest in the nation). I would wager that no one comes of age dreaming of the day when s/he can finally qualify for a few hundred $ worth of food stamps or similar benefits. Given the oppt'y, reasonable individuals prefer to (at min) earn a living wage, & (at best) earn enough to indulge some of their wants as well as their basic needs. I have occasionally contemplated returning to El Dorado. Imagine my shock when routine searches turn up jobs that I know will barely keep my head above water. I have seen announcements for jobs that require, college degrees, special skills, several years of work experience, etc. and pay in the neighborhood of $1,500 to $2,000/mo. Adjusting for taxes, rent/mortgage, utilities, car payment, home/auto/med insurance, fuel, childcare, groceries, work wardrobe, etc., the worker-- no matter how motivated or well-intended-- will likely end up in the red. Factor in intangibles like reduced discretionary time, personal stress, cronyism, nepotism,'good ol' boy', and other office politics, and it's not an attractive proposition. Regardless of one's personal value system, it is very disheartening to give it your all 40+ hrs/week, and STILL not be able to make ends meet. When one considers that so many of the jobs in El Dorado are not even F/T, the picture is gloomier still. From such a perspective, it's not so hard to understand why some SETTLE for social welfare benefits. I know people who lost their jobs in the recession and were treated like scum because they dared to claim unemployment benefits for which they'd paid into 'the system' for 20-25 yrs. Imagine going from earning six or eight grand/mo to receiving $300-$400/wk that won't even cover your house payment, all the while having presumptuous people look down their noses at you for being "lazy, trifling and shiftless'. Imagine facing the dilemma of accepting or rejecting the first low-paying job that comes along, knowing it will both render you unavailable to look for more suitable work, skew your salary history, and ensure that you won't be able to meet your current expenses that were based on a substantially higher income. As far as disability goes, it takes a lot of players to scam that system. Perhaps we should reserve some of our vitriol for the doctors and lawyers who profit from encouraging and supporting fraudulent claims as well as the obviously inept administrators who approve them. What is "wrong and immoral" is that ANYONE should HAVE to work 2-3 jobs at all. Some of this is attributable to employers who also game the system by hiring only P/T workers to avoid providing benefits, paying certain workers (like wait staff) a fraction of the minimum wage, encouraging high turnover in low-skilled jobs to keep certain costs down, etc. These "broken" social welfare programs underwrite their bottom line by lowering their costs of doing business. As a business owner, I would hope that your concern is an indication that you are part of the solution and not the problem. Best.
I assume from your post that you live in either more of a metropolitan area or in an area with a lower percentage of welfare recipients. People do dream of becoming lifetime welfare recipients because the system isn't set up to teach any of them to actually succeed. The welfare way is passed down from generation to generation as a way of life. You may not want to admit it but it's true because I talk to the individuals and I see how much effort they put into pretending like they are helpless. They have even asked my wife to lie for them so they could continue to get free money. They don't even try to hide it.

Infighting has penetrated the highest levels of the House GOP leadership. Long-standing geographic tensions have increased, pitting endangered Northeastern Republicans against their colleagues from other parts of the country. Enraged tea party leaders are threatening to knock off dozens of Republicans who supported a measure that raised taxes on the nation's highest earners.

Screw the Tea Party, bunch of obstructionist that will never get their way...well take that back, they will destroy the Republican Party, which will hasten their lack of importance in future elections.

Don't worry, if you agree to a full frontal lobotomy, Obama will let you keep .22's and .410's at your local police station for check-out.

Wait......I think you've already been processed...try to remember now, only only one lobotomy per person.

Obama will never be satisfied until he puts in place for America the dreams of his absentee father he has idolized. That dream is to equalize everyone. Take from the rich and spread the wealth around.

He also holds the European model to which America should aspire. It doesn't seem to matter to him that all of Europe is about to go bust. However,, I have entrained the idea that breaking America might be his goal since common sense dictates that a country cannot continue to spend more than it takes in plus every 46 cents of every dollar is borrowed. A household would go bankrupt ran in this manner and America will, too. Will China one day call in its debt? Who knows for sure?

As to the guns; the UN is for taking up the guns. The plan is disarm the peasants. They don't really know most Americans. Do they?

President Obama has signed into law $1.7 trillion in deficit reduction and this week’s action further reduces the deficit by $737 billion, making it one of the largest deficit reduction bills passed by Congress in over a decade. He also says he is willing to do more.

As to the guns;

That is just B.S. as well.

So, why does the deficit keep going up and why did the CBO say this is going to add to the deficit? If you were half as smart as you tell everybody you are, you'd still be an idiot.

Subject: WALTER

President Obama goes to a primary school to talk to the kids. After his talk he
offers question time.

One little boy puts up his hand, and Obama asks him his name.
" Walter," responds the little boy.

"And what is your question, Walter?"

"I have four questions:

First, Why did the USA Bomb Libya without the support of the

Congress?

Second, Why do you keep saying you fixed the economy when it's
actually gotten worse?

Third, Why did you say that Jeremiah Wright was your mentor,
then said that you knew nothing about his preaching and beliefs?

Fourth, Why are we lending $ to Brazil to drill for oil, but
America is not allowed to drill for oil?"

Just then, the bell rings for recess. Obama informs the kiddies that
they will continue after recess.

When they resume Obama says, "OK, where were we? Oh, that's right: question time.. Who has a question?"

Another little boy puts up his hand. Obama points him out and asks him
his name.

"Steve," he responds.

"And what is your question, Steve?"

Actually, I have two questions.

First, Why did the recess bell ring 20 minutes early?

Second, What the f*#k happened to Walter?"

George Bush had a "Republican controlled Congress" from 2000 to 2006 at which point he lost 30 House seats and six in the Senate.

Seems like ole George was on vacation a lot, staying away, you might say.

Looks to me like if Congress had done that much good for a Democrat president, surely they would have done the same for one their own.

Poor George, that darn Republican Congress had done went and threw him the ole trick bag with that Great Recession and financial collapse thingy.

Sure makes YA miss a Republican president, don't it?

<quoted text>It's not "Reality Check's" problem that your words can be used against you.
1. If republicans haven't done one thing in decades that is worth taking a look at, then why weren't all of the tax rates rolled back to Clinton era? I guess the democrats finally decided the middle class was "worth taking a look at" instead of just exploiting for political gain.
2. Why has Obama mimicked Bush in his war on terror tactics? Why did he expand the Patriot Act? I guess democrats finally realized that defeating our enemies was "worth taking a look at."
While there are many more examples to prove you once again wrong, those were two obvious ones that even your own ignorance couldn't ignore.(Although I'm sure you'll try since it is a fact).
Again, a little thought before you attempted to communicate would go along way in not making you look like such a fool. But then again, we all wouldn't have as much to laugh at. It would just be BARNEYII.
lol OOOk

1. it is his problem because he cannot think for himself so he has to post adjectives and words that i use, trying to sound like me, instead of just talking as himself as he did in other previous posts.

2. your republican party could have come to consensus months ago about the tax plan. they laughed at raising taxes for people that make over 250k a year and keeping those that make under the same. then they proposed their plan B for incomes of 1M which was not a democratic idea, but a republican, and could not get a vote on the damn bill! so house republicans then say that the senate must come up with a solution. the senate passes the current bill of 400k for individuals and 450k for couples. they then send it to the house where it waits until the 11th hour before all tax rates go up to have a vote placed on it, threatning harm to our country!! they then cannot come to a vote on a simple relief bill for sandy victimes and take over a week to only come up with 9B in relief funds and that is only after their own party criticize them time and time again! they also voted against a disabled veterans bill, and are currently talking about not comming to a compromise on the debt ceiling, again! your republicans cannot function within the government and will soon be outted in the 2014 election.

2. why would you say obama mimicked bush in his terror tactics? let me remind you that it was BUSH that GAVE UP on OSAMA. it was obama who ended the IRAQ war and voted against it and was against it the whole time he was in office, which is only fair sense we had NO RIGHT to go to war with them. if your talking about tactics as far as drones or sanctions, then your surely wrong about this as well. obama authorized about 5 times as many drone attacks as bush over his 8 year term just in obamas first 4, and sanctions are and have been used by every president to put pressure where it is desserved and the obama administration has implied some of the strictitest sanctions in american history. obama has also gave a year for ended the afganahstan war something more than bush did as well. bush's war tactics were money costing feet on the ground, and obama's tactics are far different. bush started wars and obama is ending them, that is also a difference. if someone really has to break this type of recent history down to you then maybe you should do every level headed american a favor and just not vote nor care because you cannot comprehend things that have happend over the past few years .. so it's scary to really think what YOU think is going on with this country. lol you've been brainwashed kid quit watching so much fox news.

you really believe that bought the vote bs? didn't romney say that bs? didn't you ignorant republicans learn the first time you tried believing what romney said? lol what a joke. unlike you i know something about my country that i'm so grateful to live in. and i wish you ignorant republicans would get your fact straight. you guys so eager to throw that free cell phone BS out there. you know NOTHING of what your talking about. a government program was set up to subsidize the cost of phones that suppliers provided to lower income families .. the government also subsidizes gas so where the hell is my free gas? lol and your a joke and give other americans a bad name. you keep saying the "founding fathers", and that you don't need the government to tell you what to do. what the hell do you think the constitution does? it governs and checks our government when dealing with the people. and if you think that you could do better off without medicaid, medicare, social security, public schools, roads, bridges, firefighters, policemen, gas subsidies, farm subsidies, and the worlds most powerful military then by all means GO TO A PLACE THAT DOES NOT HAVE THIS. there are Many countries that do not have all these so called BAD government programs, so why are you still here? and apology tour? are you on that again ? did you not learn from the first 5 times you quoted fox news and they were wrong? get out of here with that nonsense. the only people that believe the way you do are the same ignorant missguided individuals still watching fox news and believing romney's still got a chance. what a joke!!! your just as ignorant as every single word you posted on here, do all your constituants a favor and keep your mouth shut because your news media is already ruining the republican reputation, they do not need your help.
