You MUST be kidding, right? If you don't know what your senators are doing, or NOT doing, you have no business VOTING!

Why can't you just watch it and form an (honest) opinion on what you actually see, rather than making an assumption on that which you don't know. This is something ALL AMERICANS need to be aware of. We should all be outraged and fire the offenders!

But then, you aren't man enough to admit that what he says is right on anyway- even if you do agree. At this point it's only about saving face, isn't it?

Whatever.

Like I said that nut job is irrelevant. On 9/11 when he said the Bush family was gleeful for the attacks America suffered and the loss of 3,000 Americans I knew he was unstable and a mental case. Then when I heard him talk about all of our enemies should have nuclear weapons I knew he was dangerous to America and a complete doofus just like his kool-aid drinking cult following zombies. And as far as voting, you should be talking to half the dumb asses in this country that voted for Obama and not me. Speaking of voting you are such an idiot that you gush all over Paul with every breath and every word that comes out of your mouth yet you voted for Romney! Talking about nut case! LMAO!

look lisa... you know nothing ... everything you said was completely false... look obama knew about it way before anyone else did, including your little fox news channel. they took the intellegence that was provided, made assessments and took action to make sure all the embassies in the area were secure. them disobeying orders was a valent effort but left others in a vulnerable state and lucky nothing else happened other than what took place. all information was disclosed to a few senators and house members in a briefing, but john mcain missed it because he was out stumping on the lack of info. oh yah i say john mcain because he seems to be the only ignorant republican talking about this; well with regards to one that is a little more obvious. when you have the house speaker and other renowned republicans calling on the "libya consperacy" to be squashed then surely there are some republicans living in the real world. another issue is this whole general petraeus nonsense. general petraeus is a registered republican in new hampshire who Resigned himself last friday Nov 9th. he was not asked to resign he did it himself and on top of all of this he is a republican. get real you guys that watch fox news are living in a fantasy world 5 days behind the real thing. get informed.

In 2008, I was at a stop light in the city and a group of people were holding Paul signs and waving at traffic. I thought they were all crazy cult-type people. For real! I thought Paul was kinda loony too. Needless to say, I knew almost NOTHING about him and I didn't vote for him.

Four years later, I realized what the craze was all about. This guy actaully followed the Constitution! Those crazy people on the side of the road that day I now realize were just regular Americans who wanted to get back to our roots and have small government that does only what they're supposed to do.

No, I don't talk about him all the time. But I do respond to others when they bring him up. Care to change the subject now?
Why not watch the videos I posted and give me an HONEST opinion about what that man says?

Oh that's right. You won't like him either because his name is Paul too and you don't know what he stands for, therefore he MUST be bad.

Paul believes the size of the federal government must be decreased substantially. In order to restrict the federal government to what he believes are its Constitutionally authorized functions, he regularly votes against almost all proposals for new government spending, initiatives, or taxes,[15] in many cases making him in a minority of members of the house by doing so. For example, on January 22, 2007, Paul was the lone member out of 415[16] voting to oppose a House measure to create a National Archives exhibit on slavery and Reconstruction, seeing this as an unauthorized use of taxpayer money.

Paul advocates substantially reducing the government's role in individual lives and in the functions of foreign and domestic states; he says Republicans have lost their commitment to limited government and have become the party of big government.[17] His 2012 "Plan to Restore America"[18] would eliminate five Cabinet-level departments: Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education. He has called for elimination of other federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,[19] and the Internal Revenue Service,[20] calling them "unnecessary bureaucracies". Paul would severely reduce the role of the Central Intelligence Agency; reducing its functions to intelligence-gathering. He would eliminate operations like overthrowing foreign governments and assassinations. He says this activity is kept secret even from Congress and "leads to trouble".[21] He also commented, "We have every right in the world to know something about intelligence gathering, but we have to have intelligent people interpreting this information."[22]

Paul calls for the elimination of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is tasked with coordinating preparedness and relief for natural disasters. He regards the argument for FEMA as “symptomatic of a blind belief in big government's ability to do anything and everything for anyone and everyone.... When people are starving, injured and dying they need speed and efficiency, yet FEMA comes along with forms and policies and rubber stamps.”[23] He complains that FEMA is a mismanaged and nearly-bankrupt bureaucracy, open to corruption.[24][25][26][27] He also argues that the socialized insurance concept which underlies FEMA is deeply flawed, encouraging risk-taking – such as building beachfront homes in hurricane-prone coastal areas – that would be too expensive to consider if the sole source of disaster insurance were private-sector insurance purchased in the free market.[24][25][27] In his view, disaster response management should be coordinated at the state and local level, without any federal involvement, and should be entirely voluntary and based on charitable goodwill.[23][24][27] As Hurricane Irene bore down on the country's coast in August 2011, Paul said,“I live on the Gulf Coast. We put up with hurricanes all the time.... In 1900, before FEMA, the local people rebuilt the city, built a seawall, and they survived without FEMA....”[28]

yah i know what ron paul stands for and he stands for all those ignorant tea party republicans that are stalling the government in the house.

<quoted text>Yes you are the ignorant one because you are one of the ones that think government can solve all problems. That part of the problem government is way to big. I could be wrong but i believe the way you are so pro obama and all. You are one of the 50 million people on food stamps and getting a welfare check. Just so you know smart butt the tea partyers are good decent hard working poeple that are tired of the government ripping the nation off with all their spending. Stick that in you food stamps and eat it.
It just seems like most Republicans are for socialism for the middle class (as described earlier in this thread, most don't even pay enough federal taxes to cover the parts of the budget they support, much less their share of the entire budget), but they are against socialism for those who actually need it. Why is it okay for the rich to support the middle class? That is socialism. I can't understand how the Republicans think they are for small government. They just want to change who the government benefits and who it doesn't. More tax cuts for the middle class, of course.

I mean, it will be bad if the "Bush Tax Cuts" (which Obama extended and wants to keep extending) for the middle class expire next year because the Republican Congress is holding them hostage for tax cuts for the rich -- but even Bush knew that they weren't affordable, that's why they originally had an expiration date. But where is any of that money going to come from? Welfare cuts?

I looked at the federal budget. Of course, the military, which Republicans want to expand spending on, is about 25% of the budget (and that's with the two wars all but ended). Medicare, which Republicans want to increase spending on, is nearly 25% of the budget too. Social Security? About nearly 25% of the budget. Education, which is about 4% of the budget, is something that Republicans want to cut. Welfare? Cut cut cut. It is 12% of the budget. What are we going to do, cut welfare down to 9% and increase what Republicans like by several times that? It's a drop in the bucket, and that's without their increases in spending. Not to mention all of the tax cuts that Republicans want for the rich and the middle class. Where is the responsibility in that? Where is that money going to come from? Cuts to welfare? No. It isn't even possible. Not even if it was eliminated.

I have never heard anyone talk about the middle class before like I have. I can understand why too. The poor don't vote. The rich don't have the numbers to make a difference. Both sides need the middle class. The Democrats and the rich both pander to them. But it amazes me how the Republicans get so many people to take on the cause of the rich as if it was their own situation, when in reality the vast majority of them aren't even paying their share of the budget, much less paying for anything that the government provides for anyone else (which they so commonly erroneously complaign about).

Stick that in your food stamp hating pipe and smoke it.

...we all know that the top 1% pays 37% of federal income taxes paid. The top 5% pays 60% of federal income taxes paid. The top 10% pays 70% of federal income taxes paid. I looked it up once, and someone has to be in like the top 15% of wage earners to even be a net positive contributor to the federal income tax system...

A vast majority of Americans (including most of the middle class) are "subsidized by the rich."

They aren't paying for anything of anyone else...they aren't even paying their own "fair share" of the budget (likely not even the parts of the budget that they support if they got to pick and choose what they want to exit).

For example, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars cost $14,000 per man, woman and child in America.

How many of you Paragould Republicans have paid that much in federal income taxes? Family of 4...$56,000?

And remember, that is your "fair shair" of the tax bill on just that ONE thing...imagine everything that even you are for added up and divided by the population.

That kinds puts Romney's "47%" comment into prespective.

If you think that I'm wrong, then how?

...it isn't in the math...

<quoted text>You just prove you know nothing about socialism is and republicans arenot socialist. Your president is, he wants the government to control the people. YOU are one of these people who won't wake up and you are allowing him to do it. i don't believe the government should control anybody. The constitution states the government is for the people by the people. If our founding fathers could see what obama has done to this nation they would be spining in the graves. News flash since you know nothing about economics. I'm all for the rich and everybody else paying their shares. But obama is talking about the filthy rich paying as high as 52% of their income. If you tax the rich they don't hire and they lay off people. The government doesn't have a revenue problem. They have a really big spending problem. Obama spend 6 trillion dollars in four years. They need to cut accross the board. I say we start with obama and congress salaries. Your president makes 400,000.00 a year plus a great big expense account. The average congressmen gets about 175,000.00 plus a big expense account. Now i'm betting you don't make that much. Why in the world should all us tax payers pay for their spending sprees? Why should future generations pay for all their spending sprees. Wake up before you allow obama to destroy this nation with his radical socialist-communist ideas, before we lose our freedom. Do you not love your freedom?
if republicans aren't socialist then why are 13 republican states now not agreeing to implement obamacare which would force the federal government to pay for their states share of the contribution... they are taking the handout and begging for more... you ron paul quacks are just as nuts as all of the extreme right wing tea partiers... oh and by the way the government doesn't control anyone .. you don't have to accept medicare, medicaid, social security, unemployment, wic, disability, or any other type of welfare... but i bet you do .. and even if you just use what you paid in you would run out before your life ends... with the rising cost in medical which has been leveled pretty much off by obamacare...and as for your constitution statement for the people and so on .. guess what this is what the people want .. we as americans help each other out .. we don't spit on them when their down .. if your ok with that then move to china and live in one of those prisons designed to keep people "in" lol .. we have each other's backs when we go to war, when a national desaster strikes, so why the hell would we not have each others backs if one of us loses a job through no fault of their own, gets cancer, gets to old to work, becomes a quadrapaligic,... your version of i'm on this on my own will never pass as this entire country is tied to every one of it's citizens and indirectly to the rest of the world... the tax hike may go as high as 40 if we go over the cliff as that was the previous taxes under clinton for someone who doesn't know anything about economics... and let me tell you years of companies taking big bonuses and giving them to upper management due to record profits on the back of employees is coming to an end... these companies will essentially have to reinvest in their companies through pay raises and restructure just like they were doing in the 90s or they will fail and i commend that. if companies that are profiting millions more due to bush tax cuts and decide not to reinvest then let them go under. denny's franchises, papa johns, and other multi million dollar companies will learn and you are and will continue to see changes... people will go elsewhere and jobs that are lost will be created due to other companies having to expand to pick up business this is how econ works how it has always worked and if there will be no change freely then the econ will force companies to change .. the money will infact stay the same just move to different places.
