Whatever makes you feel better. The problems with predictions, especially government agency predictions, is that they don't mean squat. The only thing that counts is the data that gets recorded AFTER the event being predicted takes place. So if some statistic combined with a favorable prediction of something that hasn't even happened yet makes you feel better, I don't have a problem with it. The REALITY is the economy sucks and so does president Obama and his administration and everything shows it. The factors that look good for our economy are being manipulated. Interest rates are artificially low due to the $85 billion being pumped into the bonds market by the feds. What would the stock market look like of we took 5 years of $85 billion per year out? The unemployment rate is due to more people dropping out of the market each month and not more jobs being created. And, no, I'm not implying that Obama is the only president in our history that has ever manipulated economic data. He's just the worst.
"The factors that look good for our economy are being manipulated. Interest rates are artificially low....."

Brilliant observation R.C., I could not agree with you more this time.

Those manipulating moves made by the Fed's are doing what they were intended to do, making the economy grow.

Amen to that RC, I agree again, just look at this, just like you said.

The Commerce Department recently revised second-quarter economic growth upward to an annualized rate of 2.5 percent".

The mother-in-law arrives home from the shops to find her son-in-law boiling angry and hurriedly packing his suitcase .
"What happened ?" she asks anxiously .
"What happened !! I'll tell you what happened . I sent an email to my wife telling her I was coming home today from my fishing trip .
I get home ... and guess what I found ? Yes , your daughter , my Jean , with a naked guy in our marital bed ! This is unforgivable , the end of our marriage . I'm done . I'm leaving forever !"
"Calm down , calm down !" says his mother-in-law . "There is something very odd going on here . Jean would never do such a thing ! There must be a simple explanation . I'll go speak to her immediately and find out what happened ."
Moments later , the mother-in-law comes back with a big smile .
"I told you there must be a simple explanation .....
She didn't receive your E-mail !"

Additionally, the Institute for Supply Management said Thursday its survey of purchasing managers – the businesspeople who buy supplies for their companies – climbed to 58.6 percent in August from 56 percent in July. That's the highest level since the index was created in 2008.

I guess perception is reality. I, and all experts, see 2.5% as pathetic and is a result of pathetic leadership. You, on the other hand must see it for what it is, the best we will ever get out of Obama. He's running at full throttle and I think it sucks. But, hey if you think that 2.5% is acceptable then whatever.

Despite the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and a series of shocks in its aftermath, the economy has gradually strengthened since mid-2009

Growth in the U.S. has outpaced that of other advanced economies affected by the global financial crisis.

State and local governments have been forced to cut deeply and shed jobs in response to fiscal challenges…

That would be due to the Tea Party and other assorted Republicans.

AN OPPOSED BY Haters LIKE THIS, THAT INCLUDES YOU.

That the white race is superior to people of color is the social contract conservatives have made with their supporters, and libertarians, Republicans, and teabaggers expand the supremacists reach by opposing issues such as healthcare for all, food assistance, social programs, and immigration reform because they tie them to rewarding people of color at the expense of the white race. It explains why poor white Americans who support Republican policies consistently vote against their own self-interests, and reveals the depth of hatred many white people harbor for people of color. In fact, despite his success and rise to the highest office in the land, President Obama has become the face of “the other” that besides being reviled as un-American is often accused of hating white people.

Look, there are more dumb white people than black, we use you as an example. His policies would be wrong regardless of race. It is the voting for your own self interest rather than the good of the nation that has gotten us into this mess we are in. You vote for the person that says what you want to hear. Most Socialists are white.

ALL HAIL OBAMA'S AMERICA!!! We are officially the best of the worst. Congrats Barney, your leader has done better at a proven failed governmental style than other nation. The problem is that it was Capitalism that made us far and away the most prosperous and most powerful nation in the world. Since Capitalism is what we Americans base our level of prosperity on, we are failing miserably. The "everyone's doing it" argument didn't work when we were teenagers trying to get our parents to let us do something we knew was wrong and it's not working for Obama as he's trying to sell it to the American people. It's only working on a select few who think people who earn alot of money are somehow evil if they don't spend their excess on things that those who think wealth is a bad thing believe is important. If I had the power to force you to spend your money supporting something you disagreed with, how do you think you would view how your money is spent, since it wouldn't be where you wanted to spend it?
