Whew, Barn, you are quite the bumbling detective!
Going back pages to look through post after post after post after post after post.
Why, it appears you have more time on your hands than the rest of the posters here.
While everyone else is busy at their job, working hard to put food on the table, here you are...cutting, pasting, editing, researching, accusing, and babbling some sort of goofy and twisted response to anyone and everyone that differs from you!
I can certainly see why you are such a liberal! Gives you that leisure lifestyle to just sit around and point the finger at others with one hand, while waiting for your check with the other.
One thing about liberals...they got lots of time on their hands to complain about that disgruntled working middle class!

When people don't have money they prioritize their purchases. Consequently, the first things to get dropped are frivolous purchases. If things keep getting worse, then even the purchases that are needed but not essential get cut. That is where we are as a society. Those who have savings accounts are cheapening the "extras" they buy by going to Wal Mart or other big outlets who sell less quality for slightly less price than quality. Those big outlets have the money to get things made specifically for them to sell at cheaper prices and American consumers mostly look at price and not quality. My business has seen declines of -8.35% from 2008-2009,-1.74% from 2009-2010,+1.20% from 2010-2011, and -4.78% from 2011-2012. The total loss in business since our high in 2008 is -13.22%. We are still a very healthy company but 13.22% is a significant loss in revenue. I talk to others who have businesses and they are either much worse off than me or in the same boat. I don't talk to anyone who is having a great year and I talk to alot of people. No offense, but I can tell from your posts that you don't really know how businesses, especially very small businesses work, you have probably listened to the news about this huge company or that huge company's strategy in a down economy or the very few success stories out there because there are companies that do well in this type of economy. Most big companies not only get revenue from sales of product but also get large chunks of capital from being publically traded. Companies like mine can't go public because we are too small. We have also changed our approach to business in these tough times to ensure that we can stay healthy.
Look, you can talk to whoever you want, but my advice is to talk to someone who knows what is going on and has a successful business. Seems to me since all you talk to are unsuccessful people then of course any business ideas they give you are also going to make your business unsuccessful. There are plenty of people living in Pocahontas who make very successful livings and have been in business for decades. Try talking to them. Fact is that, like I have stated before, I have helped open, start, and run businesses and even a couple there in that little town of yours and on the outskirts as well. Great business owners do not complain that their business is doing bad nor do they want individuals to know and take pity on them or take their business somewhere else because they sound incompetent. I live in a town where small businesses thrive and even franchises small and large are moving to the area. You cannot say that just because you live in a small town of 7k people with businesses moving out and families leaving that your business is doing bad because of Obama or because the economy is not thriving. Point is no one wants to stay in a town where they have no future and it may not be because you are an incompetent business owner, people are leaving so revenue will follow. The last person I need telling me how to run and open a successful business is an UNSUCCESSFUL business owner. Do not play games with individuals who know better. I can tell you your first bad business move was getting on here and running down your own business saying how bad it is doing. Think that does not matter? Tell that to those who actually know you and your business. There aren't that many privately own businesses in Pocahontas that can be singled out especially when you own a small consignment shop like you. Your approach has changed? How so? Because you just said your business was failing. Business strategy depends on understanding of the market around you and the revenue generated by the town, along with the demand of the product you are selling. Business decisions determine the outcome of the business and by the way you are groaning it sounds like you have made a few bad ones.

Another strong indicator that you have no idea what you are talking about and are more than likely, at the least, distorting the truth about your business experience. Certainly proof that you didn't even read my post. I don't run a consignment shop. In an economy where many businesses, big and small, have gone under, my business is quite healthy and I never said it wasn't. I simply stated that we have seen slight declines in business since Obama has been in office. We have never seen the people in our town have so little money. Every seasonal, monthly, or weekly trend that we used to see has gone haywire and completely unpredictable. I talk to my customers, like I always have, to see how their lives are. The one theme that is common in most all their stories is the shortage of money and how times are so tough. Business is doing fine so don't worry about me.

All this from a Woman that about a Year ago was begging for free furniture.
We all know that you are an Obama supporter and a welfare queen.
You basically got run out of Arkansas and now are working to have the same thing done to you in Oregon.
No one here believes your story about any successful business you have had or helped.
Your claim might be that you worked at Mickey D's.
The previous poster never said what business they owned or did they ever imply that the business was a failure or than it was unhealthy.
You need to get a life and spread your ignorance elsewhere!

Someone must have typed that post for you then.

Because you would have been way busy at your job, working hard to put food on the table, instead of taking the time to post on Topix.

We know you are busy working away at your job, lord only knows a dumb ass would use a Straw man to attempt to wipe the egg from his face, and then do what he is accusing someone else of doing.

Your view: Not nearly enough
My view: Not one thing has changed only shifted positions.
I'd say we and not very much in line.
My view on unemployment, as I said, there is not enough jobs being created, and you say you are not in line with that?

How do you shift a position without creating a change in that position? Would change not be the inevitable outcome of a shift?

Simple. There were 195K jobs added in June yet the participation rate for the year has gone down by 0.3%. So more people have left the workforce than have gotten jobs this year. The unemployment rate held steady at 7.6% with 11.8 million unemployed and 155.26 million working. So as many people left the workforce as entered it in June. If 195K jobs were ACTUALLY added in June, the unemployment rate would have gone down to 7.47% because the number of people out of a job would have dropped to 11.605 million. So you see Barn, there were a shift of people and not more added to the workforce as you implied by saying 195K jobs were created when there had to be 195K jobs lost in the same time period making it a washout. I understand that your trying to defend an indefensible liberal socialistic position. If you will look at what's actually heppening and not just cherry-pick the feel-good aspects of the economy, you will come to the only conclusion possible. Barack Obama is the worst president in the history of United States presidents. He is simply killing our country and people like you are facilitating our decline as a nation because of your liberal blindness. That's the best case scenario for you. The other option is that you know exactly what he's doing and you support it 100% which would make you un-American and I simply don't believe that to be the truth.

On occasion you slip up and inadvertently tell the truth, such as you did here,

"you know exactly what he's doing and you support it 100% which would make you un-American and I simply don't believe that to be the truth"

To that I shall agree with you, because I do not think you are so inept that you believe half of what you write.

Since you brought the subject of the so called "diversion" to the table, you own it.

Do not break your arm patting yourself on the back for that maneuver, it was after all, very transparent.
