His veto power wouldnt ever have been used. Ole paul brought plenty of pork hometo his district. You bought in to his telling you what you wanted to hear. That what all politicians do. paul was very good at lying to win elections. thats why he was elected to 12 terms. The fact is there isnt now and never will be a ballott box or political fix. And the direction we are heading isnt working. So where & how does it end? It ends in econmic collapse, social upheaval, civil unrest, Martial law, civil war, race war, ethnic cleansing, and unbelievable suffering. when the USA is down and weakened any other country that thinks they can will attack and try to take over the USA. there are enough people in china or india to use as cannon fodder for a invasion and they could kill every single person on the US soil. the US by doing the UN bidding has made enemies of a lot of nations. those folks are ruthless and willing to die.

They won't do that because there is a "gun behind every blade of grass" in America.

Guess which candidate for president has the most gun friendly voting and legislating record, to ensure there remains a gun, or two, behind ever blade of grass?

The Second Amendment: Individual or Collective Right?

Paul probably has the most unrivalled record among all the 2012 presidential candidates for his advocacy of the Second Amendment for individuals. In 2007, Paul introduced the H.R. 1096: Second Amendment Protection Act of 2007 in Congress.

His intent behind the bill was explained in an earlier address to the House.
"Mr. Speaker, I rise to restore the right the founding fathers saw as the guarantee of every other right by introducing the Second Amendment Protection Act. This legislation reverses the steady erosion of the right to keep and bear arms by repealing unconstitutional laws that allow power-hungry federal bureaucrats to restrict the rights of law-abiding gun owners.

Specifically, my legislation repeals the five-day waiting period and the "instant" background check, which enables the federal government to compile a database of every gun owner in America. My legislation also repeals the misnamed ban on "semi-automatic" weapons, which bans entire class of firearms for no conceivable reason beside the desire of demagogic politicians to appear tough on crime.

Finally, my bill amends the Gun Control Act of 1968 by deleting the "sporting purposes" test, which allows the Treasury Secretary to infringe on second amendment rights by classifying a firearm (handgun, rifle, shotgun) as a "destructive device" simply because the Secretary believes the gun to be "non-sporting."

Legislations

Paul opposes any attempts by the government to 'disarm' the citizenry. This is one of the many quotes he has made over the years concerning the issue.

"In our own country, we should be ever vigilant against any attempts to disarm the people, especially in this economic downturn. I expect violent crime to rise sharply in the coming days, and as states and municipalities are even more financially strained, the police will be even less able or willing to respond to crime. In many areas, local police could become more and more absorbed with revenue generating activities, like minor traffic violations and the asset forfeiture opportunities of non-violent drug offenses. Your safety has always, ultimately been your own responsibility, but never more so than now. People have a natural right to defend themselves. Governments that take that away from their people should be highly suspect."

Nevertheless, Paul soldiered on, and aided by his small army of vocal and enthusiastic supporters, he stuck to his guns and never wavered from his convictions. Paul is a constitutionalist, and makes no apologies about it. He believes in small governments, non-expansionist foreign policy, gold-backed currency, personal liberty and abolishing federal income taxes. He holds the most conservative voting record in Congress, and he is also the biggest advocate for the dismantling of the Federal Reserves.

It dont matter if there is a gun behind every blade of grass. There wont ever Be a cohesive opposition to a goverment gun confiscation, there will not be a patriotic revolition. its gonna be like this there are laws already in place that allow the confiscation of firearms. folks with criminal records folks with mental issues. during a natural disaster or civil disturbance. The goverment could declare marshal law. they could declare martial in just one city or local . They are not above creating a false flag attack to justify tramplimg our rights.and the military do a sweep and take the guns. then they move on taking just little bits at a time. The wars in Iraq & afganastan are good training. They disarmed law abiding citizens after Katrina. And paul should have set an example and not added to the fiscal responsibility. He talked the talk but didnt walk the walk.

On two occasions Ron Paul voted NO on protecting gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits for product misuse.(That means someone shoots somebody and then the victim sues the gun manufacturer because obviously it is their fault) In 2003 (HR 1036) and in 2005 (S 397). It seems interesting especially considering in 2004 he voted YES to restrict frivolous lawsuits (HR 4571).

There is nothing wrong with hope. However their comes a time when its prudent to face the facts and realize when something is hopeless. Its not that were doomed. Its that what we once had is gone and replaced by something that cant possibly continue without ending in disaster.Myself Im persistant and never give entirely give up If something isnt working or making headway Ill not throw good valuable time ,resources & money away to try and rescue a hopeless endavor. As the song states ya gootta know when to hold them. know when to fold them, know when to walk away. and know when to run. The USA was in a one time anomaly after the second world war. We avoided conflict on our soil. We had the factories, workers & natural resources to build everything. europe was bombed out. and we became the producers for the entire world. If someone wanted anything they came here. Nowhere else could you get anything better made at a better price than the USA. but we had a archilles heel. We where too dependent on foriegn oil. the fake jimmy carter gas shortage was the beginning of our downward slide. now american products are not really needed anymore. The rest of the world are not wanting our goods anymore. So what happens now? Our lifestyles and goverment should have become smaller and less costly. Instead in the face of shrinking demand our goverment & lifestyles exploded and grew and it was all done on credit. We got too big for our britches. And we still refuse to diet enough to fit back in them. So pretty soon we will face the music.

Yes people used to wear out their bodies and die young especially the women. back in the 1800,s most men lived long enough to have two wifes. Many had three. Now its the opposite. pretty soon this economy will collapse. overnite we will be skyrocked back to the 1800,s lifestyle. the old oxygen thieves wont be sucking up resources for decades much longer.

Is martial Law the goal?

Daniel Detwiler
teapartyorg.ning.com
February 1, 2013

With everything happening to this country of ours it is getting harder and harder to maintain a cool head and not jump to conclusions but if we sit back and view the last four years as well as what’s happening now an image is starting to appear of what might possibly be our future.

During President Obama’s first term he laid the ground work. President Obama issued over 144 executive orders, many dealing with martial law. As the Supreme Court already opinioned when looking at President Lincolns use of martial law,“Martial law … destroys every guarantee of the Constitution.”. This means when martial law is declared we as Americans have no rights at all.

During President Obama’s first term he wrote Executive Orders granting the government the power to take over all communications media, electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals. He also wrote an Executive Order where the government can take over all modes of transportation and control of the highways and sea ports. That means Obama can confiscate your horse, your donkeys, your bicycle or even your riding lawn mower. All forms of transportation. Executive orders signed by Obama also include railroads, inland water ways, public storage facilities, airports and airplanes including commercial planes can all be taken over by the government.

Think that’s bad, well it gets worse, much worse.

Executive Orders have also been signed allowing the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. To take over all health education and welfare functions. To allow the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations, AND grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute Industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

If that doesn’t scare you then look at this. An Executive order has also been signed which allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit, and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when the president declares a state of emergency, Congress cannot review the action for six months.

Now why that last part that congress cannot review the action for six months? To understand why President Obama wanted that executive order lets look at what martial law is. Martial law is the suspension of civil authority and the imposition of military authority. When we say a region or country is “under martial law,” we mean to say that the military is in control of the area, that it acts as the police, as the courts, as the legislature. The president is the commander in chief of the military and as such in full control of the martial law. Seeing how the constitution is suspended during martial law and the President is in control the only ones able to stop martial law is the congress. In effect that Executive order that says Congress cannot review the action for six months in effect give the President full unchallenged control for six months.

A little tidbit to add to martial law here is that our constitution Article 1, Section 9 states,“The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.” The concept of the of Habeas Corpus is that a person may not be held by the government without a valid reason for being held. A writ means the government would have to provide a person to a court to show just reason for holding them. With the suspension of the writ the government can detain and hold a person indefinitely.

In a nut shell a President can declare martial law, would have six months of free reign to do as he pleases while rounding up any congressional opposition to his martial law and detaining them indefinitely and doing this totally legally.

In order for a president to declare martial law he must have a valid reason to do so. For that lets look at our present situation. Today we have a president whom has openly declared war on the second amendment to our constitution. This is causing a great deal of civil unrest in the nation. Being told that their actions are unconstitutional doesn’t slow the President down at all, in fact it emboldens him to push even harder. To top that off our President is also pushing us to the fiscal cliff of ruin. When asked about the out of control spending our President replies that we do not have a spending problem. Top that off with our government printing money as fast as possible as well as demanding unrestricted borrowing powers we can see we will be heading to a financial meltdown very soon. A financial meltdown coupled with civil unrest over constitutional violations would be the catalyst for open revolt and exactly what would be needed in order to openly declare martial law. Then we all are doomed.--------- Ok now for those believe that this will effect the wealthy & poor alike think again. The wealthy have moved their money to other places. Many have purchased large yacts. Those yatcs sailed out into international waters are not subject to martial law. some of the very riches folks have sold all of their property in the USA. they moved their Buisnesses & factories a long Time ago .
