I've seen mountain lions and my ole lady has too. Game and fish say they don't live in this area but I really don't think that mountain lions or any animal for that matter give a damn what people say. They do what they want to do. Game and fish say and a lot of people say that black panthers are extinct as well but in the bottoms they've been seen. I've seen one myself in clay county when I was a kid. We are always discovering species that were thought to be extinct. You never know what's really out in the world until you see it. Speaking of deer cams earlier, not about 2 weeks ago someone was showing pictures of a mountain lion killing a deer at a feeder at night on a cam in the maynard area. You can't get more solid evidence than that.

some joe blow will kill it soon enough.
hopefully before it attacks a human or hunter.
They have just as much right to live as you and I do, stay out of the woods.

No proof of cougars, but have proof of bobcats around Hoelscher... Most of the time you leave them alone and they will leave you alone... only when they are sick, starving or hurt where they can't hunt game, there could be a problem... otherwise they don't like humans as much as humans are afraid of them...

Nothing more beautiful than animals in the wild. I would say hunters have nothing to fear from big cats as long as they leave them alone, the cats will chose to run or hide unless some nitwit presses them.

i would be wary of letting children and smaller dogs outside alone if i knew a cougar or vicious dog was in the area. hunters in the woods at daylight and dark would also be at risk.
