I agree with Reader; please dear, please find a councilor for your daughter. As a teacher, I have seen children leave for the Ranch and return from the same--only they have changed, not necessarily for the better. A person's walk with God--beliefs or lack thereof--is very personal and cannot be forced through exposure to someone else's program or plan.

Your daughter's beliefs will be a direct reflection of your own, although it may not seem evident for years, possibly not until she has her own children to raise. Show her through example, but do not drive her away permanently through attempting to force her closer.

Many teens are troubled; love your daughter and make sure she knows you do. Make it clear that you will not judge her--keep the lines of communication open. I feel for both of you, having been through the horrible depression of my own precious girl. We survived it; you will too. The Lord's Ranch was not designed for teens like your girl. If you send here there, it may do much more harm than good.

Blessed be,

Hey guys,
So I have a lot of family members that work at the facility. I've been there before and it's nothing like what these dumb ass people are saying. They only put kids in restraints because the kids throw stuff at them and fight the other kids. The advisors give them Christmas present, let them play sports, and even take them to church. There's different levels out there. If your a bad kid your gonna be in level 1 others with depression would go to another level/house. Half of you guys don't even know what your talking about. And by the way it's not a disgrace to Randolph county because it's not even in Randolph county it's in warm springs

Can someone just tell me if the place is good for kids? I have a 15 year old who is extremely smart but is going through depression, and wants to get away for awhile. I need some help on this place!
There is a facility in Paragould called the Paragould Group Home that takes children like this. They have a horse riding therapy I was told. Look them up and give them a call

For your information alot of the things people say does really happen at the home. When people come to visit your not ever going to see any of the bad stuff they know how to put on a show. How dare you call children who have suffered so much dumb asses. you think just because the home provides some good times such as christmas presents, or whatever that it makes up for all the awful things that have happened? They dont just take them to church they force them to go every wendsday friday and sunday, they also force you to bible study every morning. There is no choice given you either believe what they tell you to believe or you get to stand on the wall or even be restrained until you accept jesus into your heart. They will restrain you over anything and it is the worse pain you will ever feel. They have seriously hurt kids but then lied and said the kid fell and got hurt or got into a fight. You have obviously been brain washed just like the rest of the people that have been at the home. by the way the home owns alot of property and homes in Randolph county just so you know and they are a big disgrace to the whole state of arkansas. They run that area of arkansas whatever they want they get. whatever they say is the law around there. so yes people living around there have a right to be angry and fed up with them. They have money, power, and all the politicians in their back pocket so they get by with things that they shouldnt. you have no idea what your talking about and you are the mindless one. maybe the reason why you have so many family members working there is because they are all so easily brainwashed into doing whatever the home wants them too, either that or your family enjoys making children suffer. There have been some wonderful staff that worked there who didnt hurt the kids and who really tried to help...where are they now??? They left all the good ones do, because they couldnt be brainwashed and they knew that what was going on was wrong. The home may never be shut down even with all the people who know the truth about the home and try to get help for the kids. The home just has too much money and power.

Do not ever send your child there I was there for a while when I was young and having trouble I was sixteen and they were MEAN to the little kids they lied to my parents about stuff and really hearing you ask made my stomach sick. If you know anyone that has children in there please tell them to pull them out that is an evil place they may look nice and kind when your there but when you leave it is another world.

Jessica your experiences should be reported to DHS and the authorities. No one will ever stop children being sent there or put an end to this place until former clients step forward.
I did report it just too little to late

This place lives in the nightmares of the children who were placed there- even 10 years after leaving. No - it is not a safe place for children. No- it is not built to rehabilitate, protect, or care for children. It is a place in which numerous children have been wrongfully abused, their needs neglected, and has caused/added more pain to their already terrible situations. The devil is alive there and hiding behind scriptures. The 4 survivors I know still have nightmares about this place. It is not good or of God. It should have been shut down years ago.
