Kay, so I've never been into hunting, but judging from my Facebook, LOTS of my friends LITTLE kids have killed deer this year. Is this really possible? Do you think at 3-? Yrs of age, these kids understand that killing should be for meat. Or is it some kind of "your kid can kill for free" time, so these parents are playing "deer killing Santa"? Lol my daughter is 2 and I wouldn't let her in the same room as a loaded gun at this point, can a 3-yr old possibly even hold one? Do they make "baby guns"? Lol sounds awful-just dunno how all these kids can be killing deer ? Someone enlighten me PLZ

A three year old would get blown across the woods if they shot a deer. Adults can only now hunt this weekend so my guess is that daddy killed it and said the 3 year old did to make it legal.

That's one of the reasons I don't like the youth season. Also the kids take high risk shots at moving deer and wound too many of them. Also they allow small bucks to be taken. Small bucks will be big bucks if they are given time. Restrict them to big bucks or does.

I agree with you in general. I won't shoot small bucks. If I don't get a chance at a big buck I'll shoot a doe near the end of the season. That doesn't happen often. I'm usually lucky enough to get a big buck and then I might hunt for an old doe. A lot of 'so called' adults are as bad ot worse than the kids. It's just that most of the kids don't know any better. Shooting a nice doe instead of a small buck is much better for the deer herd (and deer hunting) in the long run.
