I think Ben pond would be a good choice, he's a veteran, business man and family man, i believe he would work hard for the citizens of pocahontas.

Get watch dogs in place early for polls, election process and the counting of votes. Otherwise opponents spinning wheels. Elections in many many towns in America are corrupt and flipped in favor of the" Athoritys" rule. Partys and Individuals should start pooling money now for recounts etc and money for other things. Secure some volunteers. Change will only come this way and by getting new people in both the Council and Quorum Court with new Mayor and Judge then maybe the City Attorney wont have as much athority rule over the people as he does the current elected officials. TEA!

ANYBODY would be 100% better than who(what) we have now. biggers has done absolutely NOTHING for this town that i know of except to help tear it down. personally i think he's lining his pockets with our $ then he'll be long gone. he could care less about this town or the people in it.

After much thought and deliberation I am here forth endorsing none other than Paul Biby for Mayor in 2014 - Paul has the business experience to turn this town around and bring the casino that the Powhatome tribe has been considering on the Black . Also have been told that Eddie Rose will be named Fire Chief and Raymond Mansker Chief of Police if this occurs . Thanks to all of my supporters who have encouraged me to run but I am just staying to busy with my PI business

That is a glib challenge, your comment means nothing. The mayor chose to run for office, and should be able to take the heat as well as the glory. It is perfectly normal for public officials to receive criticism. And, I do not face any obligation to run for office.

This is such a worry to me i cant eat,sleep,think,or funcion hardy at this time i mean its just driving me crazy,because if we dont get a perfect person for this job this town will go down hill,we will lose factories,car dealerships even the ford and chrisler will take the dealerships away we will only have 2 places to by food,people moving off the farm will not come to poky they will go to jonesboro,no wait,this is already happening when these people use to come to town but anymore they are just going on to jonesboro because they can see we are over we are historic,the signs that are erected in jonesboro about historic pocahontas was a dumb idea,it means just that,it does not matter who the mayor is he is not jesus christ he cant put back what was or time,some of you ppl are dreaming except what is and stop thinking about what was,move foward we cant go back,waterloo was the straw that broke the back of this town,whats left Brvt,school,hospital all funded by the gov.quit dreaming.

jobs are what we need - not politicians playing got-cha and control games.

ok to let the chamber carry on with their dues and social stuff, but we need to find, appoint, and fund a qualified economic development professional.

desperately need another cinch, brown shoe, or waterloo here for growth and stability.

amazing we've maintained our population as well as we have while losing those big factories and their jobs. retirees moving and/or staying here has saved this town. and jonesboro jobs and factories.

we seriously need action and help in the economic development area with actual production jobs. politicians and status quo isn't working.

We are going to feel the next five years,we can feel it now but the goverment has been pumping money into housing for first time buyers,thats over or will be soon,after that look out housing mkt.because they did not have to pay any money down just sign the line and move in so you can guess what will happen next they will stay till they get kicked out and gov. will own a house,this has been going on for a while so it wont be long till these houses start showing up,but the market is getting flater anyway because there are no jobs,the influx of retired ppl are going to be less.

Well thats simple just call them up and tell them to come-on back,i mean i'm sure that no other city would want them,and hey they haven't been gone but ten years or so,i'm sure if we get the right mayor he will fix this for us,you should know that there are factories everywhere thats wanting to invest in poky but they are hearing that big sucking sound,you know where they dont pay Obama care as well as taxes,taxes,taxes and more taxes.

We sent our son and daughter to colledge they got a degree and had to go to other areas for their jobs,this is how and what is happening with our young,of course you want your children to get an education and rightfuly so but they aren't comming back here because the money and opertuinties are much better in other areas,personally we should have moved form here years ago and i will retire soon and plan to do so but this is what you ppl educating your children can expect,no its not what one wants but is forced to do so dont do as we have done and get caught flat footed poky is a good place to live but dont expect to be near your children,we have been going down hill the last 50 years why would you expect things to get better
