can we have a public meeting to see if our mayor can get something done about the city roads. city may as well make them all gravel at least the judge will have them graded and put gravel on them when needed. personally don't think the major is doing much for the city....

What streets are you talking about in particular? It seems like if the city ever does redo a street tr water company comes and tears it up the next day!

pick a road of your down Thomasville. this road has more cracks than when a earthquake hit California. Yes, I do agree that when the roads are repaved the water dept. digs a ditch across the road. It blows my mind why they do that for then there is a low spot in the road and blows a tire.

Thomasville is a state highway, not a city street. City couldn't do anything with it if they wanted to. It is I horrible shape though!

Yes The Highway Department has to be responsible for Thomasville not the city, but you are right it is in really bad shape. There are several around Pocahontas that are bad. That is why I can't see spending all the money on that water park or a new pool etc when we do have so many roads in our city that need help! Plus jobs - we need jobs -

I do my part - I keep my sidewalks in clean shape so walkers can at least see where the sidewalk is at. And last time I checked it isn't the citizens job to get a shovel and a rake and go out and fix them. That is what we pay taxes for and have a street department for. And if you are in Cleveland, OH as it says on your name, maybe you need to take care of your own streets and not worry about ours here. :-) Just saying...

If you in Jonesboro you need to worry about your own - get out there an patchem up if each of you buys some patching material and fixes a hole each month the streets would be in good shape- 7000 people X 12 Months = 84000 holes patched up - so get off the computer and get to fixing

I'm not in Jonesboro even thought it says Jonesboro. I am right here in good ole Pocahontas, so I am speaking of my own. We pay taxes for the roads to be fixed, there are people who are hired to do those jobs, and as I said I do just fine doing what I do with my own lawn, my own place and the sidewalks etc around my own place, I'm not supposed to take care of our streets, my tax dollars and everyone else who pays tax dollars is putting the money there for those who have been hired to do those jobs to do. As I said before, if you are in Ohio, as it says, then why are you worried about the streets in this town?

Let's call for a public meeting and see when the skate park is going to be replaced.
