I am opening a new business in town within the next year. Either a movie theater or bowling alley. Whichever of the two I decide to go with will be legit. Unlike Twoods and the old theater. I would like everyone's thoughts and opinions. Please only serious posts. Thanks you.

Anything that you could rent for a child party would be great. Keep prices reasonable and it should go over good. Even a chuckie cheese arcade with go carts would be nice

We need something for the adults in this town to do for fun, where we can go and not have to listen to a bunch of screaming children.

. Sorry but you need to find a new place to live. Most entertainment in small towns is centered around children.

You'll never make it. The people in this town are either poor, cheap, or both. Movie theater won't make it, too many people like going to Jonesboro. Bowling alley won't make it either example T-Woods and the one by Walnut Ridge. No one in Randolph County cares about keeping their money in Randolph County. The kids around here are worried about riding around drinking and getting themselves knocked up. Party Poppers tried and it didn't work. Now all you can do is book em for parties. Skating Rink didn't make it. Fun City had go cards, arcade and skating and didn't make it either and they were in perfect location for it.

That is what is wrong with this country, children grow up thinking they are the center of the universe, they aren't, get over it. Adults are the ones who work and pay taxes, we are the ones who need some entertainment in this town. You are the one who needs to find another place to live.

The last thing we need here is a Chuckie Cheese, how about a nice cafe where adults can go and get some peace and quiet, that sounds really nice.

A video/game center with things like games, pool table, putt putt golf, and a food center. Have rules of no fights or punks and the families will show up with the kids. Keep it clean and neat. Hire clean cut workers not trashy looking or cussing workers.

A nice little coffee shop with different imported coffees would be a welcome change.

No doubt, I get so sick of trying to find a place to eat out in peace without some brat screaming and slinging food. The local buffets have kids grabbing and touching all the food and the parent just in a trance. Ever notice how most people with several kids are the ones on welfare today? The "earned income tax" is the biggest joke of all, getting paid to breed.

I'd love to see a theater; I refuse to go to Jonesboro for a movie. There is one bowling alley in town that's still open; I know people who go. Unless you're doing something really special with it, I don't see this community supporting two bowling alleys. Though it would be nice to have a decent place for adults to go (not something like the Moose or Elks), however, so many people have kids - a place like that would likely attract an unsavory crowd and not meet the needs of a large enough population to support itself. Best wishes!

I agree; I think fun city would have made it if they kept the tough crowd from hanging around outside. Party poppers needed more for families with all age kids, not just little ones. Maybe have a night designated just for adults. We love to play pool but don't like the smoky bars.

I would personally absolutely love to see a theater again in Pokey. I grew up going to the one in Pokey. A theater gives kids, teens, AND adults all somewhere to go and something to do. I believe if you promoted it well, you could certainly be successful.
