Can you explain to me how a law is going to prevent a attack happening it won't ppl don't like to bossed around and will still have them just illegally and ain't there enough of that already. It will only be taking our rights away to own what we want, cause it is a right to have what ever animal makes them happy. It does not say in your bill of rights that you have that your not allowed to choose your pet.
I for the most part believe the best goverment governs the least. and we have enough laws. However I would support a law that would give jail time to any dog owners whos dog kills any human no matter what the breed.

I have never owned a Pitbull so I cannot speak from an owner's perspective, but I have seen more great Pitbulls than mean ones. I was out of town recently and decided I would utilize the local park to take my daily walk/jog. Out of nowhere comes this Pitbull and he just jumps on me from behind. I almost fell over, but when I turned around to see what jumped on me I found this Pitbull wagging his tail and warmly greeting me. He was such a sweetheart. I pet him and played with him for a while. Meanwhile there was an older couple using this path and they proceeded to cause a scene and demand the police come get this "viscous beast". Luckily, I found the owner (lived on property adjacent to the park) and got the dog back to his home. The moral of the story here is that not all Pitbulls are bad and each should be judged based on its personality and record before deeming it a bad dog. I agree that something needs to be done with viscous dogs (of all breeds), but I think we need to start with the owners. Euthanizing a dog based on its breed is plain sick!

Pit bulls used to be nanny dogs. That was litterally what they were called. Because of their strength they were bred to fight. That's when they got their bad rep. Obviously those of you who are wanting to get rid of them all have NEVER been around a good pit bull. I have a border collie and pit bull and a chiuaua/weenie mix, and out of them all the chiuaua has the worst temperment. He would be the one to bite. That is bred in them of course. Chiuaua's were bred to hunt moles and other rodents. Any dog can bite at any time. In my experience I've seen only a few mean pit bulls and they were neglected, beaten and basically taught to be mean. The most "viscious" dog I've encountered is everyone's favorite dog around here, the german shepherd. Those are "family dogs" and I would not trust them with children of any age. Do your research. It's these breed specific prejudices that kill MILLIONS of dogs every year that just need love.

Oh you guys are idiots. The point is any dog at any time COULD do harm. Stop bashing specific breeds you know nothing about. If you don't like them don't get them. Don't let your children out without watching them. Not only a dog could get them but also a pervert. People need better parenting skills. End of story!

If you are a dog owner, you are responsible for their actions. If you have a large dog you must keep it contained, somehow, someway. If it kills or maims a child it is your fault and you should serve jail time. It is not your neighbors responsibility, it is yours! Our children should be safe in their own yards! Put that in your pipe and smoke it! It should be legal to shoot any dog that gets off their owners property!

People rape and murder children all the time. Maybe we all need a bullet to the head. Sounds about right since we're eliminating an entire breed due to some having menacing behavior.

"ALN"....You're full of shit. Chicuacua's are NOT used as hunting dogs ANYWHERE. It would be funny as hell to watch a "few" of them "take down" a "large animal.
And PLEASE, you inbred idiot, don't try to act like you know a damned thing about medicine, germs, infections, and.... espescially, don't try to tell us anything about gangrene, when you can't even spell the word (yes, gangrene is ONE WORD, YOU MORON).
And, "RTD" (is that your personal abbreviation for "retard"?), Saturday afternoon, 1:00 PM (that's one hour past noon, Bozo) under the Eleven Point River Bridge, between Pocy and Imboden (Be there, scumbag. Hope you can swim, because you're hitting' the water after I stomp your butt.)
Chihuahuas originate from Mexico and it is mentioned in various places on the Internet that they were used for ceremonial sacrifice, although their origins as I understand it are from the old hunting days of Mexican peasants. They are indeed a unique breed, and a faithful one as well. They are extremely intelligent and can be taught behaviour patterns easily, although each Chihuahua that I have owned has had its own personality, and I would class their personality as one that imposes itself upon the home in which it lives. WTF is a Chicuacua, must be a new breed that nobody has ever heard of, learn to spell.
