seems a little odd if the city is trying to condemn and/or take the bowers property. have they done this with ANY of the dozens of other old abandoned homes?

love his "smells" comment to the council a month ago.
if they want it, buy it.
I hope dr bowers doubles his price on it to the city.
or cleans it off and puts a big "NOT FOR SALE TO THE CITY" sign.

anyone else tired of watching the city $$ disappear because of piss poor legal oversight and advice?
how much are we paying grider's demo buddy/state senator to defend the hospital management federal lawsuit?$100/300/500/hour?
will grider's handling of it and advice on it and other issues bankrupt the city?
how much have his legal actions, inactions, and advice already cost the city?
why should he care? he gets paid no matter what he does wrong can the city voters recall him? if so maybe that would wake the mayor and council men up thinking they could be next better yet someone run against them and replace them by ballot

It is much more than a coincidence that the cities sudden interest occurred around the water park. People all over or stating the city is taking that property. The public opinion is much like when Hitler came for different groups and no one spoke up and he came for them there was NO ONE to speak to.

I'm telling you all you can piss and moan all you want, of means not a damn thing. Until you find a qualified opponent and get elected, then king joe will continue to run the show. But you best hurry, once he hits the 20 year mark, he gets 50% pay for life as retirement. NICE.

I hate to burst your conspiracy bubble but condemning buildings doesn't affect who owns the land. Bowers would still own the land. Have any of you actually driven by that place? That land would be worth more without those rat infested piles of crap on them. He ought to let the city tear them down for him and he would be money ahead. These awful abandoned places around town need to be torn down in my opinion!

Yes, some are dangerous too , be nice if grant money could be used like at the old train depo and then someone needs to look at refacing the large space attached to the gym down under hwy 67, bricks been falling off that for years into the little access road there. It floods too and is moldy and especially after the ACE Hardware business put up a levy around their business the others will get more water next flood. Can everyone along there get a nice dam or levy put up for protection? But regulations do exist for a good reason, mostly for dangerous and unsafe conditions, not particulary "ugly" so long as the practice of enforcement is fair toward all individuals and some are not singled out by a King for gain or profit. Tack, surely you aren't advocating using public money to improve private property. Say it ain't so! And those BALTZ brothers put up their own levee on their own property. I don't see a problem there. Can't blame a man for protecting his own. Just my 2 cents

No sir, I do not blame a man for protecting his own property, I have done this myself, not a levy but other improvments to my own property. I advocate loudly for Property Rights. I know there are regulations however that all must follow particularly in a flood zone , I did hear discussion however after the City Council meeting tho... that some people are not allowed to do things like this without a permit from flood plain Administrator and Joe Grider. Im wondering if some are singled out because of some reason or other. Do you have to get a permit for that kind of activity ? One is raising the flood elevation.

"that some people are not allowed to do things like this without a permit from flood plain Administrator and Joe Grider."
would be nice if grider would go after the illegal levee raisers(who had county help)that flooded our town with their multi-mile dam that's blocking the flood plain. they caused a lot of pain, hardship, and big $$ losses to folks in the city. go get em joe!

i think he is the WORST mayor this town has ever had. i dont even know why he wanted to be the mayor. he has done absolutely NOTHING for this town or the people in it. he does not know how to deal with the public. i have heard him cuss city employees & citizens of this town for no good reason. he doesnt know how to "talk" to people, he just jumps on them, cussing them & threatens to fire them. i dont know how he ever even got hired for that job. guess he had alot of people fooled. i think people have seen him for who & what he really is so hopefully he will be GONE when his term is up. couldnt be soon enough for me.
Do you mean Frank Bigger? His name does not have an S at the end, ROFLMFAO.
