I had problems with my dad's didn't get the casket we paid for, they said they no longer carried the one we picked out. They substituted a much cheaper casket.

nearly ALL funeral homes are using these caskets and even buying them from businesses you know and trust. American made caskets are a thing of the past. More people are opting for cremation because of the high cost of funerals.

In these days people need to be careful about any thing prepaid, its a good way to get ripped off. We must face it , the world is changing and I am afraid its not for the better.

A casket is only one part of a funeral. Just like a doctor or anyone else that advertises services or merchandise way cheap or tells you they will take eggs, hay or whatever in on a funeral then its time you realize you are gonna get what you pay for.

People get taken advantage of during a trying time when they are upset and weak. As far as the Chinese caskets being toxic who is it going to affect. They are putting dead folks in them not kittens.

Having been been a former funeral employee I can tell you people sometimes take advantage of a funeral home when their loved one passes. They seem to think they are a federally backed government program rather than independent businesses.

If you pay 5k for an American made casket, they shouldn't substitute a 500 dollar China made casket when you have a love one die. That seems like bait and switch to me.

They take you thru a tour of expensive stuff and make you feel like your a turd if you don't show how much you loved that person by spending 100000 or more. They pray on you when you are grief stricken adding options like its a new car. All this gets stuck in the ground and afterwards, when the pain has subsided, you get a huge bill. No better than lawyers if you ask me. Bloodsuckers. There is a difference in making a living and the outrageous amouns they charge.

The way I understand it, it is common practice in most funeral homes to sell the deceased one thing in a prepaid funeral, them substitute the cheapest thing they think they can get by with when it is time to use it.

Check around and you can find some good deals on used caskets.
For sale a good used casket, only used one time by a non smoker. Good solid, very little rust, lots of use left in it, call gravedigger after dark. Can deliver for an extra $20.00.

Notice how new funeral homes are starting to move to Poky? They know the current Hospital is good for their business. The funeral homes are starting to put your name in the Obits when you check into the hospital now, they know you are on your way.

McNabb Funeral Home, in my opinion, is a first class, honorable, compassionate and accommodating choice. Our family has always had superior treatment. We have used "Prepaid" as well as cash on the barrel plans. No complaints here, get off their backs!

nothing wrong with mcnabbs.
they are first class, honorable, compassionate and accommodating.
folks can choose the type and amount of services they want.
they also do a lot of charity work = free services for stillborns, miscarriages, etc.
