I Was reading in the paper about some pupe dream of a railroad spur to poky? Who are these idiots? Its beyond stupid. even if goods where needed to be shipped to or from poky by rail. It still would have to be moved to or from the rail line by trucks. We already have a good 4 lane road to the railroads at Hoxie. just leav it on the truck and drive it a few more miles. There isnt a need to spend 21.5 million tax dollars on something that isnt needed. Thats why the cotton belt abandoned the old rail line years ago. Scott Baltz is a idiot for even proposing such a hair brained idea. There are never going to be factories the caliber of waterloo in poky ever again. There wont ever be enough shipping demand to justify a short line spur to poky. And the 4 lane 67 is currently being extended to the bypass around Bono. yes hwy 230 is going to be four lane. Bono is about 10 miles from the 67 & 230 Jct.

No the railroad dont own the easments to walnut ridge. The old cotton belt rail road didnt pay the taxes on the right of way and it was parceled out and sold at public auction. The commissioner of state lands sold it. wal mart and a number of buisnesses on the west side of old county road are located on part of the former Rail Road right of way. At one time the Rail line extended all the way to corning. The tracks crossed current river north of the 67 current river bridge near the Keller T. It should be evident that there isnt now or never in the future will be enough shipping in poky to justify a 21.5 million dollar Rail road spur. besides I thought this was a intermodal joint agreement between the Chamber of commerces of corning ,poky and nut hill ,hoxie. corning & hoxie both have existing railroad access. Hoxie has access to both the UP and B&N railroads.

So I suppose there will be another looney idea next month? so far we have been entertained with a RR tie plant. Windmill,s , Fourlane 67 following the present route. Its possible remmber we have new taxes now and the gov.is looking for places to spend more borrowed money everyone will make less and pay 3.8% taxes on any realestate transfers thats a lot of money for the gov. to take in and Democrats are inbread,realy think about,poky has about 30% of the industry it had when the rail was took out not sure but i think about 68 or 69 but they will need another route because the old is gone and it will have to be built high so it wont flood,dont give up on Democrats you never know what they might do next.

The elected officials are trying to implement AGENDA 21 into our Community. As incompetent as they are they probally dont even know what they are doing to the detriment of the city and county as we all know it. Look at what some brave people are doing in Jonesboro to tell the Council there to STOP trying to implement AGENDA 21 into their lives in Jonesboro. Pay attention to what they say at meetings, listen. They will continue to seek grant money, buy up land and implement things that will not grow the town create jobs etc. Its a agenda to control the people by a few who will call themselves the ATHORITY. Im glad to see tackmaster posting. I really believe there are dangers to our freedoms from the NWO & UN. Agenda 21 is part of it also. Ive moved away from randolph county. If folks dont wake up the next election and demand term limits AND vote the existing politicians or elected officials of Pocahontas and Randolph Co. OUT, AGENDA 21 will Be Implemented and Is being implemented now by Athorities unelected that are smarter than our elected officials. This athority is at work now.
