If you like chineese food, I can recomend it. If it was dog, it was very good dog. At least it wasn't a chihuahua like the other place. I prefer chinese dog at a chineese place, mexican dog at a mexican place. Don't like chineese, you will be disappointed. Like chineese, A-OK

Why in the world would you eat there? The reason its taken them so long to open was because of health dept issues. Animal hair in the ducts n vents!!!! How can you honestly eat in a "restaurant" that used to be a pet store? Just the thought of that takes my appetite away. I have eaten at china king several times and the food and service was great!!!! Yes they have americans working there but hey....its mostly americaans in Pocahontas going there to eat. PLUS...its providing employment for our youth and adults that have always lived here in our community. Plus at China King the whole family can enjoy a meal as they have something on the buffet for everyone. American, chinese, on friday nites they have seafood and ive heard they will have mexican. To me...its a GREAT place and no animals or animal hair!!!!!

People who eat China-Mexi slop aren't very health-conscious in the first place. They'd eat a fried turd if you put enough sugar sauce or rice and beans on it. But at least they keep cardiologists and funeral homes in business.
I can see that

Is the China Star owned by the same ppl from WR? The one in WR next to the pizza hut is great.

And just for your own thoughts, IF they were being kept closed because of animal hair in the duct work, then they are clean now. IF the health dept. was keeping them closed for that, but they are open now then obviously its clean and passed all inspection. But i have news for ya, the health inspectors doesnt go into the duct work and look around. Every place in town, whether its your home or a gas station or a food place, has dust and hair in the duct work.

But with that being said, ill have to try the China Star out Saturday. The China King is alright, but isnt really impressive, but than it was before though, thats for sure.

F Y I, the building was completely gutted, air vents, duct work and all. The Ceiling tiles were even replaced. So if You do not trust eating there, Don't!! Chances are they don't need you as a customer. We ate today, Very impressed!! All Food was fresh, hot, and they could not have been nicer. Alot of extra food that you do not normally see around here. Will go back again and again.
