Evil Corporations.

Corporate owners of broadcast stations are olnly interested in profit. Back in the day when a individual or business entity could only own 7 TV stations, the owners were interested in profit, but they also had an interest in the station operation and the communities they served.

Good Luck Vince.

It's about time..Visiting freinds who saw him on TV would say he looks like he's drunk.

He has been really cranky lately and did not seem to enjoy his job anymore. Maybe it is time for him to move on.

I live in Elysburg and will miss Vince very much. There have been so many times in the past, he was the only reason I watched their morning show. I would like to find out where he's going so I can watch him. He had a sense of humor as well as talked about all the little terms that area part of this area such as ethnic foods, traditions, etc.

I was never impressed with the competition, however, Vince no longer at 28 is enough to make me switch, at least until I can find out where he is going. Sure makes me wonder as to why they'd keep somebody young who only cares about 90 degree weather. Perhaps his age? I'd love to know the story, but I do know neither my family or myself will be watching WBRE. His sense of humor as well as loyalty to his "beautiful wife", and quaint wonderful use of local terms will be sorely missed, but I am sure any channel he goes to will be #1. I do know I am a quiet person but feel so strongly, you can count on me plugging away

Being from Dingmans Ferry, it won't hurt the "suits" in the office, but I can guarantee you that you've LOST a viewer...!

Well, when you climb the "dumb tree", you hit all the branches on they way down I guess....

Good luck to you Vince!

Yes, I've got one more question. After this unceremonious firing, could you at least have the decency to remove his biography from your web site?

I saw Vince Sweeney at the Hospital on Aug 3,2006. I offered to show him the way out because the elavators did not work. For some odd reason my heart went out for him and I did not know he was fired. Let me say he will be missed and because of his good quality I have faith he will get a job else where.

WBRE-TV corporate suits must have gotten heat stroke from the extreme hot weather when they decided to "FIRE" Vince Sweeny. He was the reason I and probably 90% of the viewers tuned in. He explained the weather so you could understand with out childish graphics. He loved his wife, his job, children and animals. My Mother use to say, " you can always trust a person who loves animals." Vince, we will all miss you and wish you the best where ever you go. GOD bless you!

Over the years we have seen many news personalities come and go at the three local TV stations. Most of those changes were welcome and long overdue. We could never figure out why many of them were ever hired to begin with.
But letting Vince Sweeney go has to rank near the top of the "stupid things done" list.
Vince brought to TV news the qualities of being competant, interesting, and easy to follow, and at the same time, the rare down home personality that he possesses.
Our best wishes to Vince in whatever he decides to do.

I am fortunate, I run a profit driven company. I owe a debt of gratitude to my employees and clients who ultimately support me and I them. Letting Vince Sweeney go after 20 years of service to the station and community shows me a total lack of understanding on managements part as to what's important in life. You have lost a viewer! I wish Vince the very best and I'm sure management will get what they deserve.

vince was great on air a long time ago. some things don't get better with age. maybe the station felt that someone with a degree in meteorology (vince does not have anything related) would better suit the job.

I use to turn the channel on just to get the weather from Vince at Noon. No matter what the weather was...Vince...always seemed to right on the ball or else closer than any of the weather people on any of the other stations. If Vince didn't have all the fancy degrees that some of these newer... younger...men and women have it didn't show. Infact
he was better than they are. Sometimes I'd see one
say no snow or no rain, turn over to Vince and he
could tell you when to expect the snow or rain and
he'd be right and the others would be wrong.

Not only was he better than the other people on the
other channels, but sometimes he had different fore-casts than other's on WBRE and the next day sure
enough he'd be right and they'd be wrong.

When I was over at a friends recently she told me
what the weather person had said earlier that morn-
ing. I told her she should watch Vince at Noon so we did and his forecast was different. Well guess
who was right. From then on she watched the Noon News just to see what Vince's forecast was.

When you have any types of breathing problems (my granddaughter is a Chronic Asthmatic) Arthritis or many other Medical problems you rely on somebody like Vince to help you know how to dress for the day etc.

Firing Vince was not a good move for WBRE. He was the reason I watched that station as his weather forcasts were right more than any other Is Mark and Jason next to go? They have been at WBRE awhile. Wish Vince all the best and would like to know what station he goes to
