Why?? Because only 25% of the people felt the need to get off their asses to vote is why!
In Beautiful Beaufort County ... where there are 20,000 voters who COULD HAVE voted on the Democratic ticket ... ONLY 5000 took the time to vote.
God bless that 25%- without you looking out for us where would we be?!?

Well maybe because our votes do not count.!!!! Look at the presidential election. That's probably why many did not vote. There is no justice system there. Go to a larger city and you will be able to see the difference. But I'm glad that you voted.

Yes, your vote does count... OK, NOT NOW but it would have. So would the other 14,999 Democrats IF they had voted! Who knows how the primary would have turned out!! It may have turned out differently with 4 times more voters -- I know, never will 100% of the people vote... I'd be happy with 75%, 60%.... heck, 50% is within reach, isn't it?. It would be if everyone would get off the mind-set "my vote does not count".
I hate to sound like a Nike ad but JUST DO IT.

Ok, Dixon,
I'm glad that you voiced your opinion. We also could go on about this subject for years. I'm glad that it caught your eyes. Maybe otherw will get out and vote.(I will continue to have my opinion regarding voting). Racism and Discrimination still exist today. Especially in Washington, Martin and Beaufort Counties. How can a county that is sooooooo poor vote for a president that raises every darn thing. Tell me how. Gas prices there are rocket high. But it's about keeping the African Americans poor and of course out of offices. I will never go back there and live. It is a sad case and one day I wish people would not see color the color that should be seen is green. Money needs to be made and if not we will be poor. Besides so me jobs that are available in those smaller counties that Blacks can apply for and get hired. NONE.... SO why vote. We will never win. But I am not knocking your comment. "Be all you can be" is for a lot of people now.
