Ruben, Ruben....will you please stop with the "victim mentality"? How about an article about the Swedish group that put out this video. I think it would be much more enlightening.

By the way most of us don't know any Nazi's either. It doesn't mean we'd change our mind about them if we did. You are pathetic.

I go to the fair to eat greasy food, not to learn about islam. People handing out postcards isn't suddenly going to change their mind about something, especially when it comes to religion.

Let them try pushing their way of life on me and I'll push my way of life on them......if a religion is so great then why do they need to go essentially recruiting people to join it?

It's as bad as the recent rash of Mormon TV ads.

You must be full of those proverbial beans with your attack comments on the messenger promoting understanding and tolerance of Islam. Grant it, most MN folks don't know a hill of beans about Islam and what it teaches. They seem to know more about the Nazis than they do about the Islamic religion. Also, most people only see extremist Islamic Jihadists with AK-47's as representing the Islamic[Muslim] faith.

Don't forget over 1000 years ago the Christian faith was seen as the 'infidel' aggressors during the Crusades. The Crusades weren't Christianity's exemplary years during the "Dark Ages". Ignorance from both sides still permeates history.

Please don't confuse immigration problems, cultural issues, and misplaced nationalism with Islamic ignorance/intolerance. Rosario is trying to reveal to us the misentopic errors of confused times and cultural values. This is the USA the melting pot of diverse cultures and peoples.

However, our way of life is being threatened by hate, ignorance, and misunderstanding of who we are and/or what we stand for as a nation. Trying to understand one another and be tolerant of all facet[s] of our growing society is the American way that our Founding Fathers envisioned. Isn't about time we get back on track to greatness again as represented by the Statue of Liberty and our American Constitutional precepts? Trying to understand the real Islamic faith and its beliefs is a start. I say this as a Christian and American.

Peace.

This is the present.. Do you believe in Sharia Law like Muslims do? Do you realize how insane this belief is.

I would agree with all 11 of the post if they were backed up by something other then a bunch of crap. Reminds me of the mentality during WWII and the Japanese concentration camp. I give east side Thomas some credit but again in context, so being a human that seeks truth I would have to read the book. I'll be honest I look down on the people of this faith and thats my shortcoming. There is good and bad in all races and religions, Sad part is the people they need to talk to have already made up their minds. What I would say to people of this faith is you guys need to monitor you flock better. If you dont want the world looking down on you, expose the radicals

Only a couple of posts before the Crusades get dragged out as morale equivalency.

News flash: We are alive now, dealing with radical Muslims now, so let's deal with the very recent history, not what happened centuries ago.

Try this on for size:

Which religion promotes polygamy, Islam or Christianity?
Which religion promotes genital mutilation, Islam or Christianity?
Which religion promotes the suppression of women's rights, Islam or Christianity?
Which religion promotes capital punishment for homosexuals, Islam or Christianity?

I think it's clear which one is the true religion of peace and which is the religion of hatred.

One question I have - if a quarter of the worlds population follow Islam how can they allow such a small minority of militants be so active? I think that most of the Muslims of the world secretly want our way of life to be gone. If they really wanted to be partners with us in the world they would help us get rid of these extremists and I don't see that happening.

No, as usual you have it backasswards Rosario, it's the muslims who need to learn about America and how to assimilate. They were graciously allowed to come here and it is up to them, not us who were here before to change their ways. This one way street BS is done.

Interesting all the dainty implications by Ruben we are idiots in this article.

It's always the case isn't it.

Oh and "smiling" mosilms handing out cards? That's a cute little play on words there Rube.

I think you mean people wearing window curtains with a 50-yard stare will be somehow making eye-contact with you just enough to get that pamphlet in your hands.

Not that I care, but I assume this license is open to ANY religious group who wants to spread the word..

Taqiyya

The word "Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one's beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies. In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving, vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling or pre-emptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims.

Falsehoods told to prevent the denigration of Islam, to protect oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned in the Qur'an and Sunna, including lying under oath in testimony before a court, deceiving by making distorted statements to the media such as the claim that Islam is a “religion of peace”. A Muslim is even permitted to deny or denounce his faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the interests of Islam, so long as he remains faithful to Islam in his heart.(See endnotes)

I gave Islam the benefit of the doubt after 9-11. I wanted to believe it was just a few radicals. Since then there have been many incidents and my opinion of Islam is now very poor. There is almost no condemnation by the supposed "moderate muslems" of acts commited by the supposed "radical" muslims. If they say something there is always the "but" in their statement.

If islam was truly a religion of peace and tolerance, they would not build the islamic center near ground zero and you would here more Muslems telling them not to.

Would another religious group be given permission to prostelitize and hand out cards at the fair? Are there rules pertaining to this. If I was there I would want to stuff food in my face and not be bothered with religion.
