IMHO, lowering the percentage of names needed by 3% - from 10% to 7% - just makes it that much easier for poorly-considered and/or specious measures to be brought to the ballot. Better to keep the threshold and allow an additional 15 days to find supporters. Then, if the proponents succeed in getting the requisite signatures, it shows a stonger support for the measure and dedicated people supporting it.

Hey, good call. It's 8:45 p.m. on election night. Voters seem to be following your lead and voting NO on Question 1 and YES on Question 2. The Pioneer Press editorial called for the same NO / YES split, based on similar logic.
