If it was a man and a female student, the outcome would have been much different. This double standard mind-set is a joke. If it were my son, I wouldn't be asking for tuition. I'd be asking for justice.

Forget whether it was a man or woman. Forget
whether the student was male or female, over or
under the age of consent. This is what our judicial system has boiled down to. Two felony charges can be plea bargained down to a gross
misdemeanor and get 1 year in jail, two years probation, and register as a sex offender. You would have to register under any circumstances, so that is not part of the plea. When is "nonconsensual sexual contact" not rape? And
when is rape a gross misdemeanor? Seriously, pick a crime today and just try to get it prosecuted. We have become a system of case workers; each side
bargains as best they can and then we close the case. Someone has to die before we throw the book
at them, and even then it is a paperback; they eventually get out and start the process all over
again. We don't need cops, we don't need judges,
we don't need prosecutors..........
just give us an army of probation officers and we
are set. What a country.

she didnt get any time in jail. its basically a slap on the wrist.only a misdemeanor, that she will expungun from her record. hes right if it was a male teacher it wouldve been way diiferent.

"Gagne's bachelor's and master's degrees "went down the drain" with the conviction" BS, she has moved out of state, unlikely people will check if a 28 year old woman is a sex offender. If she were a man she'd be in the slammer, if she were not from a wealthy family she'd be in the slammer. That's why it's called a judicial system, not a system of justice.

Now why is it any different if a male or female does this? She gets a slap on the wrist and a guy gets the chair.

How many 18 year old boys have been destroyed because they had consentual sex with a 15 or 16 year old girl? How many young men have been thrown in jail for an alledged domestic because of trickory by responding officers? It appears girls and women will always be made of sugar and spice while men are guilty untill financially and morally destroyed by a double stanard. A true example of unequal rights. Then one wonders why there are so many living on the street.

That's a nice, pretty smile the PP keeps showing us of a convicted child sex predator. Never have I seen its equal for a male 'suspect' - much less convict.

Her lawyer said her punishment of not doing what she went to school for is tough on her now. Well maybe if she had kept her legs closed she could still teach. No one asked her to be a slut. If it was a man teacher he would have gotten jail time. But because it is a female teacher it is just a slap on the wrist. She took advantage of a minor. She should have gotten 2 years. Justice has not been served

Non consensual sex? I call BS. A 16 year old boy can refuse her advances, but let her do the sex act anyway. Her position of authority had nothing to do with this case. It does not mention her threatening him with anything. Was it wrong, definitely, but it was not non consensual.

Double standard. While most boys would not complain, they are just as much of a victim as a young teenage girl.

Get into the real world, there is a huge difference between this happening by force to a girl or by consensual sex with a boy. The force could be physical or mental.

The facts from KARE:
"The student told police the sexual conduct happened in the summer of 2008 when Gail Gagne was a weight room supervisor for Cretin-Derham Hall. The student was working on a work-study job in the weight room that summer. He also used the weight room because he was a student athlete at the time.

The student also said that Gail Gagne took him out for meals and gave him rides home from school. He reported that on several occasions Gail Gagne engaged in sexual conduct with him.

The criminal complaint also states that on one occasion, Gail Gagne and the student had sex at the La Quinta hotel located near the Mall of America in September of 2008."

Interesting the spin that is introduced when the word "boy" is instead of "young man" or something like that. I certainly don't condone this behavior on either part, but I don't believe that this was non-consensual. Sounds like the "boy" got mad and decided to get even or something else. I don't think he suddenly decided he had been a victim of a crime and wanted justice.

Cute girl; she didn't deserve this. What's wrong with this kid? He turned her in after she showed him a good time.
