How absolutely terrifying. I can't believe that someone opens the bank alone and they don't have security around?

sounds like an inside job and the teller is in on it.

Hard to believe she didn't notice that someone had followed her home. Always pay attention to that rear view and don't be predictable, take different routes to the places you frequent.

Carry always, apply sparingly.

I think it is an inside job. She never saw the weapon or anything. Not to mention, was nobody else around at that time?

What's so sophisticated about following a woman home to see where she lives.

I would hope that the $50,000 reward would encourage their associates to come forward about the crime....What an awful thing to do to some poor young girl probably not making much more than minimum wage. It is a sad world we live in where anyone who works in the public has to live in fear of being stalked by some lunatic. The worse the economy gets-the more crime we'll see.

Interesting that people believe the teller is lying and is in on this robbery. Did you not see there have been several of these robberies, at several different banks, in recent months and the violence is escalating? In addition, are you set to apologize to this teller when it is determined she has nothing to do with it? This poor teller will not even feel safe in her own home, because these criminals followed her there. Do you think she will sleep tonight or for many nights to come? She has been interviewed by the local police and the FBI. Don't you think they would have detained her for further questioning if they were suspicious? How many people watch to see if they are being followed? The idea that anyone does that is ridiculous.

Pay attention to your surroundings and who is around you, obviously these guys had been watching her for some time in order for them to know she was the one who opened it by herself and where she lived. I'm glad to hear she is okay as it could have turned out so differently.

There would not be only one teller opening a bank... I am sure there are security measures in place to have more than one just for this type of situation. Rarely anything that is done in banking is under one persons control.

Correct. They apparently do not have such measures in place for this branch at least, or they got complacent. I suspect this person is the branch manager and wears many hats/responsibilities for the branch. There should have been two people opening, minimum. One to open, and one to be the "lookout" for potential trouble. If the lookout sees trouble, they do NOT get out of their vehicle and they call 911. Most banks do not give the vault codes to openers for this very reason.(Scary to think you'd have to convince the robbers you don't have the codes!)

To the poster who thinks its an "inside job." Work at a bank. This stuff is right in the training materials from day one. It's not a new thing that is happening.

Try it. It's a federal offense, meaning mandatory prison time. Tack on a kidnapping charge and you will be old and gray by the time you get out.
