Why is a 12 year old meeting a man for sex? At 12 years old, she doesnt know better? She'll have a good life ahead of her, I can see it now.

Where were the parents?

The 23 year old may have thrown his whole life away.

Don't worry about punishment this young adult got a life sentence and life label, if convicted. "Sex Offender" means that every minute of everyday will be a nightmare for this guy, even after he gets out, if convicted.

From having done time for resisting a mugger that attacked me on my property in Connecticut, I had the opportunity to poll prisoners about their lives.

If a White is nailed with drugs, he or she is a user, is the perception in most cases. If a minority is caught with drugs, he or she is, too often, thought to be a dealer.

General stereotypes that are wrong, are too often used in making policy and in sentencing.

There is a greater mistrust of police in poorer, mostly minority, neighborhoods. There is more incest, sexual predators, and sexual assaults in these areas that aren't reported.

Is it, then, any less of a crime?

Until police are held accountable for the crimes THEY commit, that is no justice in Connecticut or other states similarly on the same path.

When parents and citizens report crimes to police they should be treated courteously and legitimate complaints should be investigated.

This case is probably one that should have been caught before any crime was committed. Policies should be examined.

You can ALWAYS blame the adult when it involves victimizing a child. Adult men should know better when sexual activity involves a girl. Regardless of what a girl may say or do, it is up to the adult male to say no. This man wasn't approached, he was obviously looking for underaged girls. of course, the parents should be more on top of things. Adults (parents & predator) let these girls down. They are girls, not women.

Any man that takes advantage of a young girl at their most vulnerable stages is not a man but obviously disturbed. When he doesn't think of the consequences bestowed on these young minds for life he should rot in jail for the same amount of sentence these young girls will be dealing with this ordeal. They will all carry around this burden for life and it's the same sentence that should be handed down to them all if convicted for they are mentally and emotionally disturbed. I just hope their lives behind bars can come close to the torment they handed down to these young girls once they become someone's b---- on the inside.

After reading various regarding a man of age 26 haveing sex with minors on the computer. Why are these girls searching for men at that age? If these girls are commiting themselves to men then they should be in a detention until age 18. Don't always blame the man. The girls want the men also its just that they are underage and he should be going with someone his own age. That's how some young girls are getting murdered. Taking up with men.

Any parent who has a child with a computer in their room and have not spent the time blocking sites like myspace ought to be tried for negligence. There is NO excuse.
