No disrespect to you or your family, but no matter how the media spins news articles, the facts remain the same.

Many people have left comments ignoring the facts.

People leaving absent minded messages like this
"It was a fight and like a couple people said anybody could have been in Kevin's situation. I also think my brother was sentenced to an overly amount of time." show no respect or sorrow for the victom or his family.

The person who made that comment, regards the incident as if Ivory chose to get in a fight or to get beat serverly.

Again no disrespect to you or your family, but comments like that are just disrespectful and show no sympathy to the victom.

The way the blogger says anyone could have been in Kevins shoes is correct.Yes, anyone could have chose to rob another person, and yes anyone could have beat someone so severly that it would be a contributing factor to that person's death. And Yes, someone who makes these decisions should not only answer to God, but also to the judicial system.

Also I worry for my family, just as you do your's.
And I also worry about youth like your brother, because they are our future.
The fact that your brother will not spend much time in prison makes the worries I felt for my family even stronger.
However, I pray that he has smooth and sucessful transition from life behind bars, into society.
Thank you

Kev is not and never was a thug. He was nineteen just like I am, and when your young sometimes you get into fights. It was just a fight. I went to school with kevin and he was not kicked out he left. He was and is a great kid, and does not deserve this much time. He is a smart kid with a huge amount of potential. It is a shame that he is in our terrible correctional system, that does not rehabilitate people at all.

First of all I don't care what anyone says about the incident. I am Ivory's youngest sister. Right now I am crying while writing this. My heart is broken because someone took my older brother away from me! I Hate that this bullshit happened but it did. I MISS HIM SOO MUCH I don't know what to do. Shame on you people that's taking up for this crap of a man. He did it and he knew what the crap he was doing. He killed my damm brother and he deserves to freaking ROTT in jail. I wish he received life for the cowardly thing he did. My neice keeps asking where her father is.. I wish God would give him back to us. I didn't even know what to say when she asked about her daddy. How about Kevin come tell her he was the one who killed him! Freaking Bastard!!!

OK so everyone that's juding seems to be on either kevin or Ivory's side and the others seem to be in the law/justice field. Well I know a great deal about both parties and I have to say my condolences does go out to Ivory's family and Kevin's family. I believe yes it was a fight and Kevin was young, but all in all he knew where it would lead him, the life he lived, things he got into, it was all heading down a dark path that would lead him to either jail or 6 ft. under so he does deserve to pay the time for the crimes he committed. About Ivory, he was a nice man and I'm sadened by his death, but he also wasn't innocent, he did wrong things in his life as well and because I respect the dead I'd rather not disclose exactly WHAT he did, but he also contributed to his own well being by dealing with the people he dealt with and doing the things he did, although that's still no excuse to take his life. No one has the facts on this case, not even the police involved, Pleasantville police officers are the worst crooks I've seen and Kevin was young and didn't know anything about the system, after trusting a police officer and not speaking to his mother or anyone about his decision, he plead guilty under false pretenses, not because he knew deep down he murdered that man, but because he was scared and unsure of what to do besides what the officers told him to do (they were only thinking of closing a murder case, something they almost NEVER do in Pleasantville). I'm sure there were others involved, but because Kevin was the main factor, he had to take the wrap for everyone(he couldn't be a snith) in which makes him look like the bastard killer teen. The facts show that the head injuries were partial cause of Ivory's death, but what they don't show is the initial cause which is the drowning (different things from the swamp that ended up in his body). Now with all the info the newspaper give, and the facts "known", people would consider this a case close situation, but in actuality it isn't and I believe it should be FULLY investigated CORRECTLY. I have info from both families involved, the prosecuter, the judge, and the police officers, and personally I don't think it all adds up. Everyone has their opinion and from the looks of things they're all bias, but if you take EVERYTHING into consideration, in the end you'll say exactly what I did, the case should be further examined.

Well I personally know Ivory. So for all yall Kevin "fans" look at it this way.....if it was vice versa and Ivory would have did that to Kevin would it be considered murder than? Like for real! Yall keep talkin bout " Oh kevin was a good kid,a good student,a good person"! So in other words I guess yall saying thats it ok for him to take a life. Yall saying its not murder or that he not a murderer. Well nobody is born a murderer but when you kill someone or you are the cause of someones death, you are now a MURDERER! Cuz at the end of the day Ivory would still be here today if it wasn't for Kevin! And for all of you who keep saying that he went down the wrong road and that he was young, miss me with that cuz my son is 7 and he even knows that doing harm to someone is wrong. And of course Ivory wasn't a saint but he was a good guy who deserved to live his life. And he wasn't about trouble. He was easy to get along with and would give his last to anyone.Regardless of Kevin's situation, he is still breathing and he can get out and go on with his life, have kids,do anything! But Ivory can't! His daughter will never see him again. All she holds is memories and pictures of him. Wrong is Wrong and you won't never understand how we (Ivory's family and friends) feel! And yeah kevin deserved much more time then he got. Yall claim he such a good person but only a animal would do someone the way he did Ivory. Could you imagine if Ivory would have did that to Kevin? All you Kevin fans need to think about that!

I would like to say R.I.P to everyone who has lost their lives... Kevin will live with this for the rest of his life, R.I.P. Ivory I am positive GOD had a better plan. Things happen that are beyond our control. To Ms.Bernice who is innocent she has lost two of her children R.I.P. Shanna.. I hope God grants peace and serenity to both families this is a tragedy on both sides.. May god Bless you all
